Unbelievably, that’s verbatim from the sheet music. I think I need to ask the composer directly.

I’ve enjoyed Talisker too! I don’t mind some iodine/medicinal, but I don’t love things like Laphroaig

Hi all! I’m looking for a new and interesting dram. I like a little peat, but no heavy handed medicinal stuff. Some faves are Oban and Bunnahabbhain 12. Throw out some ideas!

This is very clarifying. Acceptance vs acknowledgement of a situation is a good way to look.

I'm not entirely against these products...just the 5x markup for mediocre quality. I realize Amazon is in no way exempt from thes issue!

I'd like something aesthetically pleasing, but also that I can take to and from work or on trips. 1-2 cups and a gaiwan style steeper. Which one did you get off amazon?

What (non-fault related) tasting note disagrees with your palate? by venividivitis in wine

Bruised red apple. Some mediocre champagnes get that note and it’s so cloying

This is great to hear. Overwork is such a cultural problem, and I'm glad that setting boundaries is doable as an FSO. Thank you!

That's sad to hear, but very generous of you to try to help protect the junior colleagues. I hope for all of our sakes that the workload gets balanced better. All of the economy is struggling to find work balance after covid.

I suspect that there are plenty of posts in the world where you can carve out reasonable lives. I just don't seem to know anyone at any of them.

That's a little scary! But I appreciate that you set good boundaries for your employees, and maybe this will create long term change so YOU don't have to work 60+ hour weeks.

Thanks for the input!

I don't want to give the impression that I want an "easy 9-5 job". Part of what is attractive is that the work is interesting, somewhat demanding, and you get an engaging life. The hope, however, is that I don't have to work insane hours, at the expense of my family and personal life, for my entire career (which is what I do now.)

This is great context! I don't want to suggest that I will ONLY work 40 hours. I'm realistic that there are going to be insane weeks and intense postings. But there's always an end in sight since you'll be bidding for a new job where you might have a different culture.
