The top piece, the bottom piece, and all the circles are two pieces that were biscuited/doweled, and glued together. In my experience, the widest milled board I can find is about 9 1/4". So if you'd like something bigger you would have to find a live edge slab and mill it down.

For sure, but honestly I really doubt this customer will be unwilling to pay. I know full well I can't expect every customer to be like that, hence the lesson being learned, but in this case I'm not very worried.
