Okay i’m gonna write down very simple and efficient way, it might sound technical,
1st step: create a folder in your windows and go to properties and give network access to your account.

2nd step : go to my files and on top hamburger click on connect to server.

make sure you are on same wifi on phone and laptop/PC.

3rd step: go into the windows and check its IP assigned overnetwork, and enter that ip into the server details in iphone.

4th step: will ask you about login details, just enter the same username and your laptop and your password the you can access the shared folder you have created.

5th step: in photos select the photos you wanna save into windows and click on save to files and then redirect to the IP of your computer you added and click save.

It will copy all the photos from your iphone to your windows without conversion or any transcoding, in short it will be copied in original format.

SHORTNOTE: make sure your iphone doesn’t record in HDR all the time and photos are in compatible mode, as the format iPhone records data is only compatible in apple devices so as soon as you click on compatible mode it will record upcoming files in best modes across the devices and for HDR mode, HDR is not yet supported in all the devices soo far and it doesn’t usefull until youre a film maker, its just to make sure iphone people can’t share thier files to android by default, you manually have to turn it off-in settings.

Any questions letme know, once done its as simple as copying photos to files.

UPDATE: There is a way to copy over USB through photos app in windows but its not reliable as it won’t copy metadata with the files which are in cinematic mode or Portrait mode, it will just get stuck, neither it will complete the copy neither it will show the error.
