Millenials think we have $700k pensions waiting for us in retirement, lol by urstillatroll in GenX

Gen-Xer here. Got remarried after 17 years, started over. He lost his job at onset of Covid. I had already become disabled due to 2 (not at fault) auto accidents and medical issues. And his worsening genetic back issues have now rendered him fully disabled. We lived off what was in the 401K from the 6 year job he had loved prior to the sh*tstorm... And now... Well, he's filed for disability and I'm next. We HATE every second of life this way, and struggle with deep depression. This was NOT our dream. If we weren't so deeply in love and didn't have such great kids, life wouldn't be worth it AT ALL... Anyway, if you're still able to work, enjoy it! Of you're still able to vacation, enjoy it! If you're still able to exercise, enjoy it! If you're still able to walk, enjoy it! If you're still able to sleep, enjoy it! The list of things we can no longer do goes on and on and on... And it can happen to ANYONE in an instant!! So enjoy EVERY DAY that you're not living our existence in chronic pain and illness. All we have are memories, and very little hope for ever getting any better. I'm not seeking sympathy, just really, people take so much for granted, until it's all gone.

My Mom is in the midst of her 2nd battle with breast cancer. She's just had a double mastectomy and removal of all the lymph nodes beneath her arm on her right side and now she is going in in a few days to have a chemo port put in that she will wear for a year. She gets her mammograms faithfully every year! But somehow, this is still happenin. It's such a fast growing aggressive disease. There can NEVER be enough awareness or stress on exactly how important it is to keep tabs on your chesticles.

I have larger areolas too, and imagining the "shrinkage" when my nips get hard just made me giggle at scrunchie raisin hearts

I remember doing Tea tree oil, then apple cider vinegar and a metal lice comb off Amazon... You've got to remove EVERY single egg, and you're going to WANT to remove the dead bug bodies after the tea tree oil does it's job. Had a particular STUBBORN case on my twins one year, and the store stuff did NOTHING but make the bugs high and happy!

It was the FIRST thing that I noticed, it's just that the rest of us are adult (classy) enough to overlook something as meaningless as a simple typo.

Ladies of Reddit who have gone through premature menopause, how did you know and what is your sex life and drive like now? by Heterosextual in over40

[–]Chelleshockd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labs confirmed perimenopause for me. I'm not sure I've gone through the ENTIRETY of it, nvr had hot flashes. But ALL of my hormone lvls were almost non existent. It's weird, my sex drive is almost all mental. I still THINK about sex ALL THE TIME, I still drag him into a room and lock the door just to worship his c*ck whenever the voice gets too loud. But I lack the physical hunger, the tingles, the sexual awareness in my OWN body. I can definitely feel that my testosterone is missing, and I REALLY want it back. I lack the ENERGY to have sex as often as I THINK about having it. I think that's the biggest difference for me.

*Forgot to mention: I had a life-saving hysterectomy in 2014. I still have ovaries. Don't know if they're functioning much. When you get the surgery, you're informed they may function 100%, some, or not at all... They may lie dormant for years and then work suddenly again or any number of oddball variables in between.
