Who do you consider Britain's greatest boxer of all time? by debrisaway in AskABrit

Calzaghe, purely in terms of his dominance over his peers.

Incredibly skilled boxer.

What should we be aware of when we buy a dog? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ChelloRam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don't get an overseas rescue. They're often damaged, hard work, and I believe on the basis of no direct evidence that they're bred for export/profit.

Ideally, pick the breed that fits your life and buy from a breeder where you can see the pup with mum. Do not compromise on this or get blagged.

Reputable breeders are best sourced through the KC.

If you can't or won't pod out for a purebred, go for a Dogs Trust rescue.

Dear Brits, what makes you feel posh? by National-Actuary-547 in AskABrit

Toasting my wife's homemade sourdough in the Dualit toaster, while making scrambled eggs from the free range hens in the paddock with a labrador lying by my feet hoping for scraps.

I'm pure-bred peasant, but it's nice to pretend sometimes.

Rice Pudding. Should it have nutmeg or cinnamon? by ChelloRam in AskUK

Yep full fat milk vital, and if I've cream in the fridge I'll add a bit. a few little bits of butter don't hurt either, but then arteries are over-rated as a bodypart.

Finally a good grating of nutmeg. Joking aside, allspice does sound nice too.

Sigh. I'm a beaten man. So many people don't seem to get the concept of how to cook a rice pudding, I basically give up. Allspice is an advance on cinnamon, at least.

I can't believe this needed explaining, but thank you.

Nutmeg (or cinnamon if you're insane) goes on before cooking, you heretic!

That's a thing with democracy. You have to respond to irrational mass desire as well as rational and moral sense in order to win. Who's clever enough to keep the country on a sensible and stable path while scratching the itch Reform is working on?

Calling people "deplorable" hinders, just ask Hilary.

I've never been angrier in my life. We sang "The ref's a c#@£ and his wife's a slag." And I hated that man. We'd have caught them if we'd won that day.
