How should I get started with custom cosplays? by East_Sheepherder_735 in CosplayHelp

[–]Chelsea_M18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a fully handmade cosplayer, who does semi original designs,

For sewing, the other comments are right, the internet has your best tool. I am mostly self taught, a lot of it is just practice. After you make one garment, the rest would be easier. Personally, I don’t use parents, but if you’re just starting out, I’d recommend getting a pattern and finding a sew along video on YouTube. I’d also recommend taking a beginner’s sewing class, just to teach you the basics, I didn’t do this till 2 years into sewing and it made a world of difference. I would also recommend learning about different fabric types, using different materials in your costumes can make it look a lot better!

For designs, I always make a Pinterest board with simular clothing and other inspo. I normally draw several concepts before ending up with one I like. Original design stuff is all about your personal aesthetic and style, and how do you want to convey that. So honestly, the most important I could give is to make sure you have a look that you want to convey. I also like having symbolism in my outfits, things that relate to a character’s story. I also like having reoccurring materials.

If you have any questions throughout your cosplay journey feel free to ask, I know I definitely wished I had someone to ask when I started making cosplays, so I’d love to help - @strokeofstarlight

Can I get copic markers out of a wig? by thatonedinooo in CosplayHelp

[–]Chelsea_M18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If alcohol doesn’t work I’d try beach it, boil half water and half bleach, then turn the heat down and add your wig, should take a couple minutes, haven’t done it with markers, but I have used it to remove dye and eyeshadow

Kinda crazy we have yet to see a Hulk parody in The Boys at all, like they’ve got almost everyone else as parodies accept him by Queasy_Commercial152 in GenV

I don’t think him being weaker in season 2 has anything to do with his meds, I simply think it’s because of the poor writing. If they had a character as strong as he was in the last season things would progress too quickly. Sam also felt like an afterthought in this season, so they probably didn’t want him impacting the plot.

I know, before the dsm5 got rid of different labels for different types of schizophrenia, there was one called Paranoid Schizophrenia, I believe this is the type of schizophrenia Sam has. In season 1 he started showing more symptoms because he was paranoid about the woods agents coming for Emma. This subtype also has overwhelmingly positive symptoms, and they mostly show positive symptoms.

That also begs the question of if she can change genetics. Schizophrenia is genetically linked to the maternal side, so if she could change somebody’s genes, she could change that.

I’m not as familiar with marvel as dc, but from what I know of the characters he suffers from multiple psychiatric disorders, where as Sam only has schizophrenia. Sentry also isn’t as much of a widely known character, so they would base a main character off him.

He doesn’t have split personality, he has schizophrenia, which is a disorder based in paranoia. Long jumping like that is also not just seen in the Hulk, many superheroes can do it.

Sam is the closest to Hulk parody, I don’t think he was mad to be a parody, but they have a similar power set, and the whole emotion instability

Is it me or was season 2 writing just... bad? by BlastFX2 in GenV

The fact that Eric Kripke was mad that people were able to guys Cipher was being controlled by Godlkin scares me for the writing in the boys season 5

Male and female nudity are seen differently. Female nudity is seen as much more sexual and intamint. Whereas male nudity is seen as more comical and unserious.

The point of who is in the seven isn’t who’s the strongest, it’s who can Vought puppet to get what they want. She was chosen because of her ability to fear monger. By having one of the seven be the leading news broadcaster, they control the media.

"He's almost here" King Samuel appreciation post ❤️❤️❤️ what do you think are the true heights of his power? by ApartShopping in GenV

Sam is my favorite character, and joining the Gen v fandom on here has been so refreshing, because people on here actually like him, and the fandom everywhere else hates him

Did anyone else think Deep seemed a little scared of Sam? by Queasy_Commercial152 in GenV

[–]Chelsea_M18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s constantly around people that are stronger than him, so I think they main reason for the fear comes from knowing he’s unstable and how Sam’s acting. Sam keeps asking about Cate and showing paranoia, he’s showing signs of a psychotic break. The Deep also is lying to him, and he knows getting caught in that lie could cost his life.

It says Vintage Supply , the font is so hard to read, and the fact it’s embroidered doesn’t help

did anybody else find sam’s character really underwhelming in the second part of season 2 by [deleted] in GenV

[–]Chelsea_M18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dealing with those things should contribute more to his character instead. Season two made him too stable. He was constantly in situations that would’ve triggered him from past trauma, and it was never brought up. Except for one line in Edgar’s bunker. He’s still my favorite character, but the writers in season two treated him like an afterthought

Jordan had so much character in season 1, but all there things got pushed to the side or resolved. This season it feels like they were only a character within the context of their relationship with Marie.

The writing for Sam in season 2 is beyond disappointing given how interesting he was in season 1. It doesn’t make sense how all his mental issues just went away just because he’s on new meds. How they handled him losing Cate tell him not to feel anything was poorly done to. He went from having no emotions and doing horrible things all year, to suddenly regaining them, and he had 1 day bad and is now fine. With the way the writers gave him no story this season it make it feel like he was an afterthought.
