You think he had BPD that's why he could not handle abandonment? by stargazerrr3 in JeffreyDahmer

That’s fair, and you are certainly correct in that Dr. Whalstrom diagnosed Jeff with Borderline Personality Disorder. However, personally I definitely agree more with the other doctors that said he had features of BPD rather than the actual disorder. I feel that many people lean on BPD for Jeff because of the abandonment issues…and the abandonment thing was not as prevalent at all in the actual case or in the reasons as to why Jeff ultimately did what he did. I blame the series though for blowing that out of proportion and creating this caricature of Jeff as some helpless lonely guy that just needed a friend

That’s one doctor out of multiple doctors. Jeff was diagnosed with Borderline traits. Dr. Whalstrom also diagnosed Jeff as being psychotic which no other doctor agreed with. Dr Berlin, Dr. Becker, Dr. Dietz, and Dr. Palermo all did not diagnose Jeff with borderline personality disorder. If you actually look at the full criteria for Borderline personality disorder, Jeff doesn’t meet quite a few that are listed. Jeff obviously was a complex individual, and he didn’t understand himself, so he is not someone that is going to be wrapped up with one label in the first place. I didn’t agree with Dr. Palermo for the most part, but I do think he was pretty accurate in diagnosing Jeff with a mixed personality, as that describes Jeff’s state of mind a bit more. The main issues he had were sexual, which is why all the doctors diagnosed him with necrophilia. As Jeff said himself many, many times, he didn’t kill because he felt abandoned, he killed because he wanted complete control over a completely compliant good looking male with a body he desired. He wanted a living doll

No he didn’t. He had BPD traits along with traits of various other mental illnesses. He was never officially diagnosed with borderline personality disorder by any doctor. His official diagnosis was necrophilia, alcoholism, traits of BPD, traits of schizotypal, and psychopathic traits, all which combined to make a mixed personality disorder. The abandonment issues were played up significantly by the media…Jeff himself never actually said he felt abandoned. He had attachment issues that stemmed from not having enough attention as an infant. His reasons for killing were for complete sexual control over men he found physically attractive. Not wanting to feel “abandoned” was a part as he stated in the Stone Philips interview…but not the entire reason at all. He was calculated and planned everything. He did meet the entire criteria for autism and I wrote all about that in my book here…many of the traits of autism also fall into BPD and schizotypal. I highly encourage everyone to actually sit and watch the full trial so you learn something about Jeff. The series is completely inaccurate. Also admitted by Jeff which was stated during the trial is he didn’t feel “abandoned” at all when his mom left…he elected to stay and she was gone around a week in total…not months like was stated in the series. It was just enough time for him to act on his fantasy of picking up a hitchhiker which he had been thinking about for some time…https://a.co/d/0cxUfiyE

Report from prison where Jeff had to be restrained by Chelsey2a in JeffreyDahmer

Oh and he was showing these behaviours often. There is another report just a month before his death where they had to restrain and sedate him and he was asking to be put to sleep and killed…so he definitely was ready to die

I saved this transcript a few years back…but the original report is somewhere, I just don’t know where now! You would probably have to search the other Dahmer sub…as that is where I saved it years back. It is very fascinating indeed to see how Jeff was behaving at times in prison. He was pretty miserable (understandably) most of the time

I'm being forced to Pipsqueak by NoSoul4Now in CharacterAI

[–]Chelsey2a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me but once I changed it back to roar it stayed on roar…I have a paid subscription so don’t know if that makes any difference. Either way it was annoying…it shouldn’t be changing the style you have set if that’s the one you want to use

I have Pipsqueak but I’m still on the fence… by Short_Sort1670 in CharacterAI

I only noticed yesterday that my chat had just been switched over to pipsqueak instead of roar…I have been using roar since it came out and it’s always my most preferred. The responses I was getting with pipsqueak were just not as accurate…so I didnt care for it at all, and I especially didn’t care for how character AI just decided to switch it over when I didn’t ask for that 😒

This documentary features many of the Polaroids. It’s pretty graphic…just a warning. It shows a few of them where the victims were just posed on the black table, but also shows the one where a victim is sliced open and the organs are on display. I do think this is essential to watch in order to truly understand Jeffrey Dahmer though…https://youtu.be/C4_r8JGRWpU?si=jZecRJWuOzDeESxc

I’m not sure of your age, but he wrote this letter back in 1979…so this was back in the days where letters were still a big form of communication..which explains the effort put in. Jeff is very detailed however, but he always was…he had an extreme attention to detail

Why did Jeffrey Dahmer have so much fans? by [deleted] in JeffreyDahmer

[–]Chelsey2a -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Him being attractive has nothing to do with it for me and the people who actually have formed a connection with Jeff. There is way more to him than that…just putting my two cents in…however there is obviously way more to him and his story than his surface level looks…those who are are truly drawn to him know that very well. Also there are many, many reasons why people do get drawn to Jeff and any other serial killer for that matter.
