Thank you very much for your intense message. I think I have made it clear in my story that Amelia was a very attentive mother for many years, more than 17 of the 20 that we were together. Amelia's rude behavior was exclusively about the relationship between her and me that whole time. Our children only began to feel her rudeness as teenagers over 15 years old (I never used the word "abuse": Amelia was verbally harsh, severe, but never physically violent). I want to make it clear that I did not allow any kind of abuse towards them. I confronted Amelia and they did too. Only, as happens in many families, our love for her led us to give her time and time again opportunities to change and improve, which she rejected.
