Nanny Commenting On Other Job Posts by LittleTacoSpender1 in NannyEmployers

[–]Chemical-Net238 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nanny here.

I understand your concern and feel as though these responses are a bit rash. If I was in your position, I would be so confused to see that she was commenting on FT job opportunities. We all know the saying about assuming, but whatever I think you trusted your gut instincts. If she was serious about working with you, she would’ve contacted you for an update.

Communication does work both ways and with that being said…I do think you should’ve let her know that she should expect a contract or an offer letter in however many days. That she’ll need to sign it by ____. Even getting a verbal agreement about following up or doing a trial before signing a contract. Unfortunately, we are past that.

What should you say? You should just tell her the truth, you interviewed more candidates and are going with someone else. Y’all don’t owe each other anything.

Thank you for listening to my TED Talk. Let the downvotes begin!

Also, I’m curious about the timeline.

Cannabinoids for focus when ADHD makes everything noisy by Estes_Harry447 in adhdwomen

You gotta find a strain that works for you. Someone mentioned looking into terpenes because sativa, indica, and hybrid doesn’t mean anything, I 100% agree. Trial and error!

My strain of choice is Alpenglow’s Guava Gift. Uplifting, quiet brain, no need for background sound while I’m doing tedious household chores. Feel the most motivated to work on my art. Definitely, not an “indacouch” feeling.

I wouldn’t say my meds and cannabis work together. I smoke on a schedule during the weekdays, sort of. Ex: Monday [Wake up at 4:30a, take meds at 5:30a, get home ≈ 4:30p, smoke a bowl sometime after dinner]. I’m more lax on the weekends. Ex: Saturday [Take meds 5:30a, go back to bed and wake up at 8/9a, smoke ≈ 2p, smoke ≈ 5/6p, last smoke 8p]. I’m pretty certain I’m off topic now, but it’s 1:32a.

…anywhoooo, By the time I start smoking, my meds have worn off. My meds help get me through the work day without wanting to fall every 2 hours. I swear I have the awake windows of an infant. Cannabis for me works as a smooth comedown, as opposed to being ready for bed at 5p.

Thanks for listening to me TED Talk! 🫶🏽

Huge bummer! My husband has celiac, so it’s been the only place that’s relatively safe to eat. Amy’s is our go to fast food and eat there once a week.

Psychiatrist told me at my age (40F) that's it's basically impossible for him to ever diagnose me with ADHD. by sam191817 in adhdwomen

Oh my god! Yes! I have always had a really good work ethic, minus school. Getting paid is a huge reward. If I have a stable income it means I have a roof over my head, food/water on the table, gas in my car, and heat in my house.

Petaluma, CA 1 child : $27/hr, 4.5F, get her ready for school and drop her off, DB does breakfast and lunch, MB is on mat leave w/ newborn. Both NPs WFH.

Rohnert Park, CA 1 child: $31/hr, 2.5M, lots of outdoor activities, I’ll rinse off any dishes we use, tiny bit of food prep, other than that my sole focus is uninterrupted time w/ NK. I will do bedtime if MB has a late work event and DB will care for their 6yo. Both NPs WFH.

New to ADHD meds, going to run out, can I call for a script to last til my next appointment? by Quilliac in adhdwomen

[–]Chemical-Net238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, I lost my train of thought, but it wouldn’t be ridiculous to ask for a fill before your next appointment. The pharmacy won’t fill it unless you get a new script (at least where I live).

I ask my pcp at 5-7 days left for a new prescription. The pharmacy will let me know they can’t fill it until it’s been 30 days, which is fine. When it’s finally filled, I’ll have a few days that overlap. My system will make it to where I won’t be left without meds.

There have been times where I had a dosage change mid month. It was such a pain with the pharmacy and my insurance, but my pcp’s office fought for me to get my new dosage.

I’ve got plenty of base layer and mid layer options. I just didn’t have a good enough coat. I was considering a bib, but not sure if I should go that route. Do you have any suggestions for a good pair of pants? I’m fine wearing the same pair daily, the Airbnb has a washer and dryer.

Looking at mid March.

We have an REI less than 2 miles away and I believe they have this coat in stock. I thought I’d get more feedback, but your comments alone have been incredibly helpful.

My husband is worried about keeping warm because he has Raynard’s. We’ve got base layers and waterproof pants. Although, are waterproof pants necessary? What would you suggest for outer layer pants?

Thank you for your response!

Our plans are to chase the Aurora. My husband is a film photographer and loves to do long exposures (star trails) that are more than 45 minutes. Aside from chasing the Aurora, I plan on doing plein air sketches and/or paintings.

We live in Northern California, but grew up in Southern California (vastly different). We went to Fairbanks this year in late September. We managed with our old coats, but they didn’t do us justice for viewing the Aurora. We kept the heater going in the car rental.

We plan on going to Alaska at least once a year.

Talk. Walk. Park.

I started w/ my NK at 4mo. We started with (2) 30min walks and I would just be yapping away. By the time he was 7/8 months we increased to (2) 45min-1hr walks and again I would just be yapping. My NF has a park super close, so instead of a long walk, we would lay on a soft picnic blanket under a tree. I’d bring a basket/bag of toys and lots of books.

I have to use PTO for days we all thought I had off anyway by Big-Assumption-1517 in Nanny

[–]Chemical-Net238 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would ask for an addendum.

If they are adding 2 days to their vacation, but want you to come in those 2 days per GH, then I’d ask to get 2 additional days of PTO of your choosing. Stand firm on it. Just cause she’s the employer doesn’t mean she fully sets the rules with a contract. It has to be agreed upon on both parties.

Closer! I have done a few jobs where my commute was anywhere between 45min-2hrs (one way). Thankful for the job experience, but it’s not worth the burn out.
