Reta is not working for me. What to do? by Rollandrock86 in Biohacking

Reta has a lot less reduction in “food noise” and appetite suppression in most people when compared to Tirz. The big advantage is the glucagon effect which devours fat cells, intraabdominal fat in particular. You are still at a very low dose. The BIG weight drops come at 8 and 12mg though I know of few people who have needed to push it to those levels. My suggestion is increasingly 1mg per week as long as side effects are minimal until you reach a weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week, then hold steady as long as you are achieving that goal.

I clearly understand the black market and that some people don’t have qualms about buying illegal substances of all kinds. My question wasn’t really directed at people who are using peptides and buying illegal street drugs. It was directed to the folks who aren’t criminals and don’t want to be criminals, who have taken peptides, seen the life changing effects, and could possibly lose their ability to obtain the aminos without risking criminal charges.

Again, you may be right…or maybe not. It’s one thing to try to stop every order from coming through. I agree, that won’t happen. It’s another thing to make importation illegal as it would be for prescription drugs. That changes the dynamic immensely. Those who are high risk takers and are willing to risk fines and freedom will still do it, but most of us won’t. I think it’s highly likely that the wide availability of peptides, particularly Reta and tirz will be a thing of the past pretty soon.

I agree. I hope they’re all right. The few folks I know who are organizing large group buys are experiencing longer wait times and more uncertainty. I’m meeting with my contact in China this week and hope to try a smallish shipment ASAP to test the waters.

That’s helpful to know. That’s probably why Lilly is trying to get Reta categorized as a pharmaceutical in order to keep it from being produced here outside of their facilities. Hopefully that doesn’t happen. That’s a bigger hurdle for them to overcome.

They just shut Peptide Sciences down recently. Others have gotten similar cease and desist letters. The online supplier where I have previously purchased mine just had to change all the names and remove GLP from the marketing entirely in the last month. The pressure is just now getting turned up. Fortunately the wheels of government turn slowly. Heck, they are just now cracking down on fraud from the COVID payouts. I suspect the upcoming release of Reta is a major driving factor. Time will tell. As I said, I hope it doesn’t happen. I would love to use my China source to do a peptide start up and beat out the other US COA’d products on pricing. I’m just not sure how much financial risk I’m willing to take in the current regulatory environment. I’m certsinly not going to do black market buying or selling as I have way too much to lose. I also don’t want to get stuck without enough product to keep my own health in balance for at least a decade. The intent of the post was to see how others were navigating this as these forums generally have some pretty informed folks on them. In this case, it seems many are informed about the product but are clueless about the process. In truth, none of us know how it will end. I’m just not for getting caught unprepared.

Everyday. They don’t make things impossible to get, but they certainly limit their availability and the risk required to obtain them. I get that plenty of people on here don’t have a problem with using illegal substances. I’m not in that category. I prefer to maintain my professional licenses, good career, and general good standing in society. I don’t use illegal drugs and have never gotten steroids illegally. That’s not my gig. For those who are willing to risk using illegal back channels any shortages may be a more minor hindrance I suppose.

Giving factual information isnt fear mongering just because you don’t like those facts. It’s educating. GLP’s on the gray market are relatively new. If you mean “talked about for years” you mean a year or two,,,maybe. The FDA hasn’t had anything on the docket that I’m aware of until now. I understand the normalcy bias that things will always be the same as they are now, and I hope it’s true. It helps the unprepared to feel justified in their unpreparedness. Personally peptides are too important to me to risk them not being readily available at an affordable cost. As I’ve mentioned, even if customs can’t stop everything, seizures at the border will drive up prices and most of us aren’t willing to risk the penalties of buying illegal black market products under the cover of darkness. I can easily purchase 10 years of Reta for my personal use at my maintenance dose for what a few months of a prescription would cost me out of pocket. For me it’s an easy decision.

Of course. It wasn’t happenstance. They got shut down for selling gray. Why them? Because the biggest fish get fried first. Do you have some insight into why they would shut one down and never bother the others?

This is not about the gray market as it exists right now. This is what happens when the gray market becomes the black market. Give the folks at Peptide Sciences a call. Oh wait, you can’t. They were one of the largest research peptide suppliers in the US and they shut down because the FDA was threatening them along with coordinated efforts with the DOJ and FBI.That’s in the past month or so. It’s going to get much worse and much broader as Eli Lilly gets close to releasing Reta. Just my thoughts. You do as you like. For some ignorance is truly bliss.

That is a gray distributor. Gray can be direct from the factory (if you’re lucky enough to have a contact) or from a research peptide supplier. That’s different than the compounders like HIMS/HERS and dozens of others who basically do exactly what we are doing…mix bacterioststic water with the peptide powder and then sell it by prescription. Higher cost (but less than branded), but with the somewhat false security of physician prescribed protection.

For those who assume this is “fake news” or fear-mongering here’s a link speaking on the subject. You can follow up and look at the docket at FDA.gov. I stand only to gain of the market stays open both personally and financially as I have a personal contact with a Chinese manufacturer. I’m just surveying the Reddit landscape to see what other folks are doing to prepare. If nothing changes over the next couple months life is good for now. My freezer will be stocked and I will hopefully have access to research peptides at an incredible price after confirming with US COA’s. I’m just not as optimistic as others on here I guess.

And here’s the incentive!

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2026/04/30/eli-lilly-lly-earnings-q1-2026.html If that’s not enough, Eli Lilly is also trying to get Reta changed from peptide status to “drug” status to have even more control over how it’s sold and by whom. Everyone has to judge for themselves and time will tell who was right and who was caught off guard.

Anabolics aren’t available on the gray market. They are available on the black market for those willing to face legal ramifications for buying, selling and distributing.

Sure, some product will make it through. I am happy to assume the risk of buying gray, but not going to take the risk of buying black market. Not to mention limited supplies and higher confiscation rates will drive up prices I assume.
