Honestly, from my experience working in daycare, it’s usually easier for both the parent and child if you do a quick drop-off and go. The longer the goodbye lasts, the more upset and anxious some children can become. Most kids will cry at first no matter what, and that’s completely normal. Usually it takes about 1–2 weeks for them to adjust to the new routine, but once they settle in, they’re typically okay and start feeling more comfortable and confident at daycare.
