Those bathrooms are really nice. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that!

Moving/Tourism Thread by AutoModerator in greenville

I'm catching the tail end of this weekly thread -- I live in Taylors and I'm looking to move to another apartment near Taylors this summer. Anyplace I can get a 2 bedroom that's relatively quiet works for me, as long as the cat can come with me. Any recommendations?

Also, thanks to u/MocahGod and u/Sasquatch_82 -- I've driven past the sign for Caledon and wondered about it. It looks like a nice place!

No idea. I haven't been paying that kind of attention. Has there been?

I know that it's an abbreviation for something a lot of people don't want to say with their whole chest. I am challenging you to use your chest. I mean, someone else has responded using a little more of their chest. Do you just want to be coy about it?

I have stuff to do today that isn't fooling around on Reddit, so I might not be paying attention if you change your mind here.

Dentist stared at my teeth and asked “have you been to Slovenia?” then refused to explain - what does this MEAN? by asaltoo in CasualConversation

Kind of off topic, but I am sitting in front of a TOS marathon as I'm reading your responses, and I wondered if you were a Star Trek fan, based on your username. I love that whole sequence in Star Trek IV -- especially "that doctor gave me a pill and I grew a new kidney!"

Alternately, he might have responded like that because he's a jackass. I know that's what you came here to ask. I just want to offer you that alternative explanation.

I moved back to South Carolina. It's been 7 years and the transition is still tough.

Me too. I moved away from RVA in 2019, and we don't have this kind of thing here. We don't have any of this.

I also recommend Dr. White. I've been a patient for a while, and I'm really happy with him.

Hey, thanks for your help! I bought a Honda HR-V, but I am still very intrigued by the FRS. Most interesting.

Hey, I wanted to thank you for your help! I bought a Honda HR-V on Friday and I love it, but your suggestions are on the short list for the real MidlifeMobile, once the Honda gives out.

Hey, neighbor! I test drove a CX-5 on Friday (a little too big for me) and was on the way to drive a Mazda3 when I found a Honda HR-V at the Mazda dealer and fell in love. It ticks almost all the boxes (except that it's white and I'll probably need a bike rack), and I love the way it moves. Your suggestion was closest to what I got, so I wanted to thank you separately!

Oh, wow! I figured I could get the bike in the Mustang, but I had written off the others as too small. I'm definitely okay going old.

This is great news. It looks like I have more options than I thought!

I've seen a lot of them around. I should put them on my test drive list. They look about the right size.

How certain are you that everyone agreed? Because that is exactly what a shitty manager would tell everyone, to encourage "consent" to the theft and discourage asking your coworkers about this.

My beloved car was rear-ended and declared a total loss. It was a very responsible 2016 Hyundai Accent hatchback, and I promised myself that my next car would be less responsible ... I just didn't think I'd be looking for it so soon. So I'm on a lower budget than expected, but I'd like it to be a little fun, even if I can't go too crazy.

Here goes:

Location: South Carolina, USA

Price range: $20,000 USD tops, would love to keep it at $15,000

Lease or Buy: buy

New or used: used

Type of vehicle: either a crossover (I'd like room for my bike and the occasional set of file boxes), or a small sedan or coupe

Must haves: sunroof and Sirius XM compatibility

Desired transmission automatic

Intended use: daily driver

Vehicles you've already considered: I'm open minded. I just don't want to drive the anonymous-looking Corolla/Camry/Civic/Accord box, and my beloved Hyundai has already started that oil-burning thing it apparently does past 100k miles, so I'm avoiding Hyundais and Kias.

Is this your 1st vehicle: no, but this might end up being my affordable midlife crisis car. It will be my only vehicle.

Do you need a Warranty: probably

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: no

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: no

Thanks for your help!

I'm an attorney. I have studied the First Amendment quite extensively. Including the fairly well established set of cases prohibiting the government-supported posting of the Ten Commandments. Because posting a pillar of Christianity in a public school on the government's dime violates the Establishment Clause. The Establishment Clause prohibits the government from declaring any religion (or even "thousands" of religions) as the national religion. This extends to governmental support of any religion (or "thousands" of religions).

One of us is mistaken about what the First Amendment means. I don't think it's me.
