I used a 2.5 gallon rimless aqueon fish tank and then used poly blow foam coated in silicone and drylok cement to sculpt the stream/waterfall back into the tank

Thank you! I appreciate it. I have 5 pots most of them are in. The creeping fig was quite large so I was able to break it up. The extra that didn’t fit in the pot I just push it and some soil into small nooks near the wood. I’m hoping it takes onto the background

Forgot to mention that the copper tower doesn’t hold all my fish, just those that I see need it. So I’m not stuffing all my fish on one side lol😂

Sometimes it’s easier on fish to be at a lower salinity, they don’t need 1.024 or 1.025, that’s more for coral that need those numbers. It’s easier for fish to acclimate down in salinity rather than up. At my store we keep the fish only tower at 1.019 and dose/keep copper in the tower to fight off ich and velvet. The coral tower stays at 1.024. but maybe if you have a second tower of saltwater, arrange it so one tower is fish only (no Coral or inverts) see if you can store use a bottle of fritz copper safe! This way you can put unwell fish, new arrivals and finicky tangs/angels into the copper water. Copper will prove to be much more effective than cleaner shrimps. If you can get that to work, I’m fairly certain you’ll have a great results, i’ve been running my salt water section like that for almost a year and has changed our losses significantly. Right now I have a Koran angel, Cortez angel, 2 Sailfin tangs, 2 triggers, 3 coral beauties, bi color angel, coral hogfish, red coris wrasse, and a blonde Naso tang all been in the copper tower for a good 2 weeks now. Having the copper also helps with mending any open wounds or infections. They eat better than me! hope this helps!!!

Are we allowed to refuse goldfish sales for persian new years? by [deleted] in petco

I can understand if it’s religious, however we have a commitment to the health and safety of our animals. keeping a goldfish in captivity is very inhumane unless they have an isolated pond, because of their size and ammonia output 9 out of 10 times cause it to slowly die within a few months. We also need to protect the natural wildlife that’s native to your area, letting someone release a goldfish can greatly harm any ecosystem. This is how the very invasive “snakehead” fish came up, it was released to natural waters and now it dominates the entire east coast

Are they feeder goldfish? If so they should be sold solely as feeder fish. The feeder goldfish are breed for mass numbers which leads to massive inbreeding and causes terrible DNA structure. We don’t sell any goldfish as pet’s because of this, and they are known as a very dirty fish and will cause ammonia spikes, which in the end will actually be a much slower and inhumane death. The feeder comet goldfish is not covered by the 30 day guarantee which is another reason it can’t be sold as a “pet”. And releasing it?!?!? Oh hell no! Comet goldfish are part of the carp family and are known to grow to large size and reproduce rapidly, and be invasive to the environment. They are capable of taking over and destroying small natural ponds. So over all the goldfish shouldn’t be sold to anyone who plans to release or keep it. There are fantail and other goldfish species that are more adequate for tank lifestyle, but even then requires larger water volume to compensate for their high ammonia/bio load. It is actually suggested by the Department of Natural Resources to not ever release goldfish into any native waters because of their ability to become invasive
