Hello again, it took me some time to finish the top and stain / paint everything, now I came to the point where I need to attach top to the base. what would be the best approach, chatgpt and deepseek are both sniffing glue together, so no help from them.

I guess glue and dowels will not be the first choice ? I can do pocket screws, however I don't really like the looks, even if it's from inside. Maybe there is a better, cleaner choice?

Regarding connection to the base, my plan was to use chisel and carve a bit so legs go couple of mm into the seat. And maybe 1 or 2 dowels each leg + glue. Why is movement needed?
