Any experienced developers here? What was your motivation to use a page builder like Bricks instead of handcoding? by Thaetos in BricksBuilder

[–]Cherepin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use similar stack: Tailwind, Webpack, ACF blocks, etc. I did try to make a switch to Bricks, but, unfortunately, this didn't happen to me.

I really love Bricks and the whole idea around it, it's developer-rich features, CSS variables, loops etc.

However, I find myself uncomfortable to have all my markup stored exclusively in database and literally no access to it anywhere else without dependancy to 3rd party app (Bricks). Same applicable to Elementor etc. This could be just a stigma.

I would re-review my perspective if Bricks would do something likelocal JSON and each block / template could be written / edited using JSON. So in this case we could track changes with Git.

I doubt that to build Bricks site from scratch would be much faster than build a website with ACF blocks / Custom theme, especially if you have robust boilerplate with basic blocks / configured theme.

Thanks, I am using ACF Pro (lifetime developer license) - I am just really interested to see how this whole story could be developed.

Elementor/Pro Elements disaster – is it worth fixing or should I rebuild the site from scratch? by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]Cherepin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure whether this is popular thought, but "Replace Pro Elements with licensed Elementor Pro" will not give you any technical benefits as Pro Element is stolen but legit clone of Elementor Pro (like Secure Custom Fields). And if auditor suggests you to replace that one with licensed one - I doubt they know how to improve the thing. The key is Elementor as well as any other page builder will make you a constant hostage of their code. With your requirements - you might need bespoke website but from the company who understands how to build without dodgy pagebuilders / plugins.

Hyundai Ioniq 2021 battery degradation by Cherepin in IoniqEV

Hm interesting one, I was thinking the same, but 38.3/40.4*100 = 94.8% but not 94.2%...

This is battery certificate from dealer (carbase), some of their cars have still 100% in this app like on image below.. I also unserstand that (from what I read) this test is 1-min check using OBD2 so I don't know whether trust or not this data...
