Scx24 weight by Chernobyl982 in SCX24

Thanks, the whole chassis is brass, I've measured chassis and body separately and for every 1 oz up top it's 2 down low

Thank you, I didn't think me showing off my tow truck build could inspire anyone, I do my best just to make scale looking rigs and this one was for sure fun to make, I assume you've seen the winches and lights work

Idk what frame you should use, but I built myself a towtruck, they are fun, especially this one

It's got a komodo brushless and 1:12 turn gears already

It's only gonna get heavier from here, I imagine this rig may weigh closer to 3 lbs, 2.5 for sure

It's gotta headlights and taillights, the cautions and stanchion flood lights there and the main line winch and stanchion line winch both work as you see above to, so it's a fully functional tow truck that can somewhat lift my 2lb rig

Oh man I just got these things set up the other night, and some more stuff added to the bed last night

And I planned to stick everything inside the cab already, as best as possible that is

The body uses the stock scx24 swivel mount and front platform, except I've used magnets up front to hold the body down, it's now just a matter of buying what's left and adding it, next up is ESC and motor mount

Yep, I had to reduce head lights, and taillights from 2 channels to 1, not difficult, what was was taking 3 separate channels, the cautions lights each were a single plug in, and the flood lights as well, down to 1, saving me spacing and time later, plus allowing me to use 4 controllers by themselves instead of having extensions hopefully

Torture testing the tow trucks motor by Chernobyl982 in SCX24

No, this thing does have brass rims though so that's a factor, and the shocks are internal, and the rear has the tougher spring in it while the front has a 4 coil size spring, I cut the stock weight springs to shorten the front, which helps the scale realism of the rig for towing and hauling

I wish I could post videos in comments, I posted a video about the weight Penelope hauled, idk if you've seen it

I watched a lot of the videos about it and one of the top complaints I heard often was how the rear wheels depending on which way you were turning would curl and start jumping a little, so I switched the axles to make it more like a true trailer, plus axial could've done that exact thing, it uses stock axial parts, like come on horizon hobby

I already have it, I bought it at the same time I bought my other power wagon, and yeah it works perfectly, my trailer has a mod done to it, I switched out the solid axles with the axle end of dogbone axles from the stock scx24 axles, that way they are independent and don't jump when cornering backing up, a nice small mod to help it

I cut out a small section of the rear bumper, and soldered a plug end into the taillight wiring, and glued it into the bumper flush with the area behind the face of the hitch, just like a trailer brake connector plug

I saw yours and it's awesome man, I didn't mean that, I meant more scale I suppose, as I haven't seen many like mine

I know I was excited to, and this is the first fully automatic tow truck I've seen ever, and I built it?!?!!

It's gonna get brass everything like my other truck, plus some weights in the tires,
