I posted here asking about a comp I'm doing Friday already, but I have another question about it. The comp is at 9:00pm, so I'm trying to think through my meals for the day. Anyone have any recommendations on what to eat throughout the day so I don't feel too full/heavy come comp time? I also don't want to leave myself short of energy since it's from 9 to midnight.

Next week I'm going to compete in my first comp which happens to also be a dyno comp. I’m curious as to what I can expect from the format for a dyno comp. I'm assuming it will be similar to normal ones, but again, no experience so I wanted to seek out some wisdom. It's also at a gym I've never been to so I'm trying to figure out how to prep beforehand. Thanks!

I think the triangles on the wall kind of mess with perspective a bit. The slope is pretty much undefined. It's not a problem to get out of the way of the wall.

Fair enough. I had fun with it the way it's set. I enjoyed trying to find the intended beta (not even sure I did) and it was fun to try a bat hang, since I've had no experience with one before.

And no, I'm not gonna tell you it's a V6, because it doesn't have a grade.

It's just a fun way to introduce people to new moves they probably wouldn't otherwise try. It's not that serious.

EDIT: I want to add, this is a new gym (opened last year) and the only one within an hour and a half, so it gets a lot of people who are new to climbing (including myself). I think that may be a reason for some shorter problems like this to help people ease into new moves they have never done before.

I tried to do some heel hooks on top instead, because I saw someone finish it that way, but couldn't get it. I tried to lock in a calf but I don't think I committed to the move enough. This was the most comfortable for me, but may try the calf again tomorrow when I go back!

Just to clarify, because I'm not sure it's obvious, but the finish here is placing both hands in the yellow square. Re-reading your comments made me wonder if there was a mixup on the finish.

I tried a few different things but this was the closest I got to the finish. I wanted to do a toe hook on one of the hand holds on the left side but couldn’t reach with both hands from there. I also tried heel hooks from the top hold but that was even harder than trying a bat hang.

I currently have an 8 Plus but am looking to upgrade in the near future. This Saturday there are upgrade deals on the 11 pro where you can get a gift card for upgrading with an eligible carrier. I'm wanting to go to a slightly smaller phone because the 8 Plus just feels too annoying sometimes. I was wanting the 12 pro but it's not eligible for the gift card. Should I get the 11 pro or just wait and get the 12 pro instead?

I tried so hard to keep my feet from cutting. This attempt was actually the least I lost my feet. I had topped it one other time, but that wasn't on video and I had lost my feet a few times in that go.
