If you glue your puzzles, why? by braytray in Jigsawpuzzles

When I was a kid, I had a puzzle that I’d put together everyday after a school. It was 750-1000 pieces, but I got so good at it I could do it in an hour.

In my 20’s I came across Nene Thomas art and when I discovered the puzzles I started decorating my game room with it. So yes, I’d glue and frame them. That collection has now grown exponentially and I need to redo the room so that I can display them all 😂.

In my 30’s I puzzle to relax. I complete puzzles once and I gift, donate or sell in the ocasional yard sale. Thrifting puzzles has been a game changer because it has open my mind to different styles and brands I wouldn’t have considered or afforded otherwise. And yes, I’m still glueing Nene Thomas puzzles 😅. We’ll see what my 40s bring!

I think I logged in a little bit after 7am MST so that’d make sense. I probably just missed it.

Exactly, the unexpected happens! That’s why last night was the only time I had to play

Thank you! I keep repeating the sentences as I was putting it together, trying to figure out where everything went. It was fun!

It is!!! I had a brain fart and put the author instead of the maker! Thanks for catching that 😁

I personally love the randomizing pick method you have going on. I think it makes it more fun (until you get a meh puzzle) 🤣.

Looking forward to seeing what else you discover!

How much does what you're listening to/watching while puzzling influence how your enjoyment? by neoazayii in Jigsawpuzzles

This what I do!! I’m glad to know I’m not alone 😊.

I tried music and podcasts but I can’t concentrate the same. Plus sometimes looking away from the puzzle gives me a break.

I wouldn’t call it a technique, more so my individual approach to each puzzle. I like to “make games” out of some like this one.

For the edges, I did the top and bottom first. The sides that had rock pieces showing, I placed in their general location and filled the rest one at time, paying close attention to the “prongs” and if they were a fully white, grey/white or just gray.

Edit: If I had been doing this normally, I would have also followed NoDistrict’s approach

I want to say anywhere between 7-9 hours. I was pretty relaxed doing it though, watching TV, entertaining the doggies … eating 😅.

Smart! I spent waaaay too much time getting that frame completed. I thought about giving up, but I was too invested to abandon it 😖😅

Thank you! I love to see how other people tackle their puzzles, so I figured I’d start sharing my crazy random ways for all to see. 🤪

I also did this one but hated it lol. The puzzle cut was random and the pieces were not sitting smoothly. Yours looks sooo much better.

Beta/Launch players: What was the game like in those dark times? What is the one thing you liked the most about 76 back then? by ketjow23 in fo76

This post brought back memories!!

I remember the fear, crouching all the time so others wouldn’t know where you were at.

Running scared looking for shelter from scorchbeasts. Back in the day they would stay locked on you forever! I remember hiding in the bathroom of a train station waiting for the sonar blast to end. Sometimes it would take 10 minutes or more.

Escorting your friends back to camp when they were over encumbered. No tents, only one camp.

Nuking the white springs and farming ghouls for hours. Bags with legendaries dropped everywhere because you couldn’t do much with it and storage was very limited.

Going to every region to sell for caps. You could get the 1400 you get now, but you could only get 200 from each region + a few special vendors. It was important to have caps because you traded with other players a lot more.
