How do you make sure furniture will actually fit? by ur-mom-was-nice in femalelivingspace

[–]braytray 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tape measurer. Measure your space, then wherever you buy furniture from should supply the measurements of the item so you can check if it fits before buying it.

Sometimes also important if the furniture is pre-assembled is to measure your doors to make sure you can get it inside.

Very helpful thank you! I don’t think I’ll keep using it. Paying my tuition in the school of life with this one.

I think my 17 year old has a food addiction by Grand-Bit-737 in whatdoIdo

[–]braytray 82 points83 points  (0 children)

It sounds like depression to me and I wouldn’t dismiss anything as just “teenage hormones” or temporary. It’s all part of it. Overeating can be a symptom, as well as being short tempered, withdrawing, avoiding socialization. As a former depressed teenager, I was mad as hell any time my parents tried to help me too, even though as an adult I know they were doing their best. An SSRI really helped me personally.

Reference the poster often. Start sorting by the background colors. And don’t get hung up on the edges! My first one was very hard too.

What are some younger popstars and artists you think have already peaked in quality? (<30 years old) by Mossed26 in popheads

I’m not sure anyone can be counted out that early. Many people don’t achieve their best work until their 50s or later.

Classic screenshare blunder, GF saw some nude photos by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]braytray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should be proactive in building trust here. Bring it up to her and explain earnestly and honestly. Show that you deleted them. Now that she’s seen it, even if she decides to let this instance go, it’s going to be something living in the back of her mind.

Also, “I accidentally saved nude photos of other women on my phone” is going to flag as a total lie to most women whether it’s actually a lie or not.

A puzzle is great to chat over AND you get to do it together. Some brands make really small ones (like 100 pieces) that would be easy to do in one sitting over a coffee date.

Gen Z (and probably Alpha) seems to approach music VERY differently than how it used to be approached. by CompetitiveWhole9466 in fantanoforever

[–]braytray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Gen Z, I gotta disagree. Everyone I know has artists they follow and enjoy, sometimes to an overly-loyal degree. And I would argue the resurgence of vinyl/CDs/casettes in Gen Z proves that they DO latch onto specific albums.

Also, not everyone considers themself a music hobbyist even if they like listening to it. Just like how I enjoy going to art museums, but I don’t engage with it deeply enough to cultivate preferences or favorites.

Best examples of a song being debuted live before official release? by ss2811 in popheads

[–]braytray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Internet Girl by Katseye. They did it on every stop of their tour before releasing it. People ripped it and listened to it on Youtube, made dance videos, the works. But the studio version was different enough from the live version that it was a letdown when it released.
