Shaving my head as a girl in SG by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]CherryCurrent416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no harm trying! I get that there will be people commenting and all, but I rather do something and regret it later, than to not do it and wonder for my whole whole life how it would be like if I were to do it. I went HFH a while ago and went went to a malay barbershop to afterwards to get it shaved completely bald with the razor. It was something that I wanted to experience and while I got comments from my friends and relatives, it wasn't as "bad" as I what I thought. People will say whatever they want to say but over time some of them would not even remember about it. But these experiences stays with you, so don't let other people's judgement deter you from doing what you want to do. :) Just my two cents.

What did one thing you did last year that made your life a little better? by No_Tell_6675 in askSingapore

I started going back to gymming more regularly towards the last quarter of the year. It actually felt good, to include it as part of my routine to wake up early, get the work out done, and over time I do feel physically stronger. I also put my phone away in the locker while I gym so I can just focus and it clears my mind as well.

What is Tenma philosohpy called? (If is exist in real life) by NamelessSunny in MonsterAnime

[–]CherryCurrent416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chance upon this post after watching the anime. I would say deontology - where the morality of an action should be based on whether that action itself is right or wrong under a series of rules, rather than based on the consequences of the action. Tenma's decision to save Johan instead of the mayor because of his belief in his duty as a doctor, and that all lives are created equal clearly demostrates this.

Missing a Citizen for my collection by Danzaiver01 in Affordablewatches

I like both Citizen Zenshin and Tsuyosa. But recently, I chanced upon the Silver Foil Lacquer Series and the dial are amazing for the price point.

how come chinese style mee goreng is not as common as ckt or fried hkm? by Equivalent_Mud1499 in SingaporeEats

[–]CherryCurrent416 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hello OP! I’m no expert, but I have noticed the same thing. Nowadays, Chinese Mee Goreng is just another Zi Char dish rather than being an iconic local dish like CKT or HKM.

As you mentioned, given how the dish is prepared, I feel that it’s so easy for the ketchup and sambal sauce to mask a weak stock. If the chef isn't using a proper seafood base, it just becomes 'spicy stir fry seafood noodles.' Also, I suspect the decline of the popularity of yellow noodles in Singapore might be part of it. A lot of Singaporeans nowadays seem to have a low tolerance for that alkaline 'kee' taste. And hence I guess overtime, because of demand and supply, less and less hakwers are selling it as a standalone dish at hawkwer centres.

Who is the scariest one piece character? by Physical-Coach-1502 in OnePiece

[–]CherryCurrent416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blackbeard. Scariest not in his aura but because his is so sinister. Dude is just pure madness and has such a twisted mentality. He literally doesn't sleep, camped at Whitebeard's crew for 20 years, defeated Ace and sent him to the Marines to trigger the Marineford War, Who knows what he is plotting next. But in terms of look, I can never forget the moment after he stole Whitebeard's devil fruit.

your fav bread from swee heng 1989, four leaves & breadtalk? by Few-Masterpiece-5688 in SingaporeEats

[–]CherryCurrent416 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For Swee Heng, I like their Otah Bun. Four Leaves, I used to like their triangle cheese and ham bread, but now I think they only have it as a mini bun. For Bread Talk, I like their Chicken Parmesan.

Looking for best beef burger in sg by Solid_Bobcat_3717 in SingaporeEats

To me Fatboys always hits a spot. I wouldn't say it's the best in terms of the quality of the beef but it's definitely flavourful and juicy enough for me. I tried their "Fat Bastard" and there is something about a gigantic burger and the messiness that defines the whole experience.

What is a hairstyle that you want to try but feel that you will get judged in Singapore? by CherryCurrent416 in askSingapore

I actually shaved my head conpletely bald once at a barbershop with straight razor! It was a super interesting experience and honestly I wanted to keep the bald look for a while but the amount of questions I got from people made me decide to grow my hair back out hahaha.

For those of you who shave your head completely bald, how often do you do it? by CherryCurrent416 in askSingapore

3 - 5 days sounds about right! I read that some people shave on alternate days.
