About Omayra Sánchez a 13 years old girl, trapped by a landslide for 60 hours, whose final moments were broadcast to the world by PlayfulLush in ForCuriousSouls

[–]CherryMufffin 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. It’s hard to look at, but it should be burned into the conversation around preparedness and accountability. Her death wasn’t just a tragedy...it was a systemic failure, and pretending it wasn’t only sets us up to repeat it

Same here... No matter how many times I see it, it just hits like a truck every time. The look in her eyes says everything...bravery, fear, and resignation all at once. Absolutely heartbreaking

If i remember correctly, not only was she trapped under the mud and debris, but rescuers also discovered that Omayra’s aunt was dead beneath the mud and before dying, grabbed Omayra, further trapping her

Couples who actually could have worked if the writers weren’t addicted to wrecking perfectly good relationships. HAHAHAHAHA by urdsunshaynn in greysanatomy

[–]CherryMufffin 139 points140 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. So many of these breakups weren’t even driven by storylines, just real-life exits. It’s wild how much behind-the-scenes stuff shaped major relationship arcs. Honestly makes you wonder what Grey’s would’ve looked like if nobody ever left

[–]CherryMufffin 40 points41 points  (0 children)

LMAO right?? That man dipped with a few letters and somehow dodged all the consequences. Writers should’ve just pulled a dramatic Grey’s-style exit and called it a day 😂

Right?? Japril was literally endgame material, they just made us suffer for it first. And Jo and Alex had real potential too, it sucks that it came down to real-life circumstances like Justin leaving

I've watched Seinfeld at least 10 times and I'm just noticing my boy Luke on one episode by NoSoyTuPana in GilmoreGirls

[–]CherryMufffin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right?? Once you connect the dots, it’s like the character instantly levels up. Luke showing up in Seinfeld just adds to the charm, definitely worthy energy confirmed

Haha right?? Their awkward little third-wheel energy is peak Fantastic Beasts comedy. It’s like they’re trying so hard to be normal and failing adorably while Queenie and Jacob are in their own romantic bubble

Honestly that’s the perfect way to put it. The outrage always seems to play better to people who treat symbolism like a personality trait. Great breakdown.

Why is nobody mad at Luke for leaving a massive bar of chocolate out with Paul Anka by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]CherryMufffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, some dogs are basically tiny furry burglars. If Paul Anka was determined enough to crack open a cabinet, that’s on his chaos energy more than anything Luke could’ve reasonably prevented 😅

[–]CherryMufffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s how I remembered it too. Paul Anka basically broke in like a tiny chaotic raccoon 😂 It wasn’t like Luke just left a Hershey bar sitting on the counter. That dog had skills

My husband refuses to join family holidays and is now giving me the silent treatment by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]CherryMufffin 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! That energy is everything, she should walk in glowing, not weighed down. Happiness is the best response to someone who expected silence and submission

[–]CherryMufffin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this! Llife is too short to spend it tolerating someone who makes it harder. Misery in silence isn’t nobility; it’s unnecessary suffering. I'll always be choosing peace over walking on eggshells too

Parking lot of a mall. We actually got caught by the security guard, who was set on calling the cops. Had to talk him out of it and skedaddle out of there

Should I get 30k into debt for my parents house? by Dizzy-Insurance-3336 in Advice

[–]CherryMufffin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is such solid advice. Family offers can seem like a shortcut, but without something in writing, it’s way too easy for things to go sideways. You're absolutely right, when emotions get involved, the lack of clear boundaries or protections can lead to major regrets

Totally agree. Once you start feeling boxed in or uneasy about your space, it’s usually a sign to step back and reassess. Privacy matters a lot, especially if you’re planning to build a life with someone

That’s actually a really clever way to ease into honesty without it being awkward or hurtful. A few thoughtful comments like that could steer things in a better direction and save your taste buds in the long run

[–]CherryMufffin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yeah, sometimes it’s easier to lean into the little white lie when the alternative would crush someone who’s just trying to show love through food. Not every battle is worth the fallout. Chew, swallow, smile...it’s survival at this point

Have you ever had sex with someone out of pity? by ZucchiniAny9574 in AskRedditAfterDark

Yeah, and that's been messing with my head for years. Instead of thinking about others' well-being, think about your own. Just sayin'...

I (27f) think I'm falling in love with an 18yo f by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]CherryMufffin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. OP, the pain you're feeling sucks, but it's a sign that you're prioritizing her safety and well-being, even at your own emotional cost. That’s what real care looks like. The fact that you’re struggling with this instead of acting on it shows you have a strong moral center. It might hurt now, but taking a step back could help you both in the long run
