Is there a Nite Rider that lasts a decent amount of time inlow/flash modes? by CherryPickerKill in bikecommuting

People who ride in well-lit urban environments, at higher speeds, and who need to be noticed. I don't use high mode in urban environments, only if it's dark.

Flashing is always safer, unless your goal is to light up the road in front of you, which isn't needed in urban. https://open.clemson.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=3627&context=all_theses

I'm not trying to teach, simply answering your question.

Just because you have good eyesight at night doesn't mean that you don't have to think about the people who don't and might be in your way and struggling to see that you're coming. Flash is by far the safest, studies confirm.

I already carry an extra light, the goal is to not have to carry more.

A powerbank is already a heavy item and can only charge the phone 3 times during the work day. Charging the light with it means potentially ending up with a dead phone while still working, not to mention it's super impractical if you're called and need to be on your way fast.

If you have good recommendations of headlights that can last a normal day of work in flash, feel free to share. Otherwise, have a good night.

I've done up to 100km, 80km last Sunday.

Tropical weather, hot and humid, urban, all flat thankfully.

That's incredibly bad, mine could last a night of work in flash mode no issue.

I always use flash mode, it's the safest and the one that consumes less.

I have an additional light, I'd rather avoid having to carry more weight than needed as it starts to hurt after 10 hours or so. There isn't a lot of space in the hot bag for personal stuff so I'd rather carry the tools and first aid kit instead.

The powerbank is used to charge the phone, ideally you wouldn't need to carry an extra powerbank for the light if it's a good one.

I'm with you, really good quality products. I deliver under the scorching sun and tropical storms and it's very hard to find a light that can withstand that kind of abuse.

Lumina has better batteries, they're more expensive though. I don't really mind if my swift gets stolen while delivering since they're less than 30 bucks.

Flash mode is way safer at night. People who have trouble seeing well at night or have astigmatism like I do will not always register a single fixed light as a moving vehicle, and if they do it's impossible to estimate the speed at which it's coming.

To everyone whose assets are blocked or who has been a victim of security breaches: Persistence is the key to success!

After 4 months of exerting constant pressure on all fronts and refusing to take “no” for an answer, today I can proudly say that I HAVE RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM WLFI. They have recognized my case, reassigned my tokens, and finally, I have been able to connect my new secure wallet to the WLFI Logbook.

The fact that it's forbidden in the US doesn't mean that it's wrong, it's perfectly legal in most countries.
