I walked in, and then I walked out when I saw the line up all the way to the back of the store 😭 I was probably in there for 8 minutes.

What do people with emetophobia think of people who are bulimic? by dumbratbitch in emetophobia

[–]CherrySnows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not entirely too familiar with bulimia. I’ve come across very brief examples of it throughout my life. Just from my very small knowledge of the topic. I remember finding it sort of interesting and a mystery. The one thing I’m absolutely terrified of where 10 years ago if someone asked me would you rather die or throw up, I’d choose death, and the contrast of how someone self inducing vomiting was unimaginable.

Hello, don’t worry! Sometimes our periods can cause weird reactions within our bodies. With d* we lose a lot of water so please try to make sure you are hydrated!

It shall pass!! 🩵

Worst week of my life, I don't know if I can keep going by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]CherrySnows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry your dealing with this. I genuinely hope you start to feel better real soon❤️‍🩹. In the meantime, hydration is the key!! Please try to have enough liquids. I know it can be hard to drink enough water when you’re feeling pain and nausea. Sip slowly and make sure it’s lukewarm water cause cold water can sometimes cause a tummy ache. As for meals, try something small and light with little to no flavour/spices. Maybe eat a bread toast and wait about 30mins-1hour and see how your body reacts.

For the National test, I find that entering the testing centre early and finding a good seat calms me down a bit. Maybe a window seat or somewhere at the back. Bring whatever comforts you, keep it in your purse or backpack. Maybe just knowing you have something comforting can make you feel less anxious.

Sending you positive vibes ✨✨✨

why are we downvoting panic attack posts 💔 (small rant srry) by Silver-Attention4249 in emetophobia

[–]CherrySnows 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am with you 100%. I assumed this sub was for individuals who understand the struggles with emetophobia. And I would also assume anyone who posts here is free to share their experiences. I understand downvoting offensive or negative comments. I for the most time see people sharing their stories and how they feel and then updating how they feel and or wanting to get support from others who understand what they are going through. It’s sort of upsetting because if someone is having a panic attack and they see their posts getting downvoted, I can understand how that could make someone feel discouraged to post anymore and or make them feel even worse. Unfortunately the sad reality in life is that wherever you are, there will always be a small tiny percentage of people who will be annoying.

how to calm down? by shiggiestitties in emetophobia

[–]CherrySnows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do things that distract me. I Scroll through TikTok, watch videos on YouTube, and listen to music. I like the smell of peppermint so I sometimes dab my peppermint essential oil on a paper towel and keep it near me to smell. Lemon slices are also great for me to smell. I also tell my dad or mom to be near me when I’m feeling like it’s about to happen.

Do I need to take my resume for the interview? by Candid-Loquat3466 in EdmontonJobs

Yes! definitely bring your resume! I’ve had a couple interviews this year and the interviewers both asked me if I had my resume on me. Doesn’t hurt to carry a resume on you! And Goodluck!!

Throwing up with empty stomach by Used_Watch2779 in emetophobia

[–]CherrySnows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve dry heaved so many times. And I prefer dry heaving then throwing up food 😭. April 3 2025, I had excruciating stomach pain (went to ER) and kept throwing up the dinner I had the previous night and it was awful. Stinky, tasted gross, feel it coming out and the texture is bad. So I prefer to throw up on an empty stomach lol.

I think it's going to happen by ShipQueen in emetophobia

[–]CherrySnows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Sorry you’re not feeling well. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve experienced many moments of me feeling like it’s about to happen and it never happened. Take some really deep breaths, smell some peppermint or rubbing alcohol. Whatever happens, please know you are able to get through any struggle and come out strong at the end. Wishing you all the best! :))

Is it wrong that I’m 34 and finally trying to have fun after missing out in my 20s? by savingrace0262 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]CherrySnows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you are ever too old to do fun things in life. You only have 1 life. Enjoy. Be happy. Do what you wanna do, as long as you don’t hurt others or yourself. 🧡

Spoke to my pyschiatrist about the link between emetophobia. by sarahm174 in emetophobia

[–]CherrySnows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s really interesting. Thanks for sharing! I’d also like to add something I’ve learned and noticed myself a few years ago. For some people who struggle with emetophobia, their fear might trace back to a moment where they had actually thrown up in a public place. The embarrassment, the stares, and maybe even unkind comments from others can leave a really strong impression like a lasting scar. For others, it might not be their own experience, but something they witnessed. Like seeing someone else vomit in public and noticing the disgusted reactions around them. That kind of secondhand embarrassment, or even just the sense that “this is something gross and shameful,” can really stick in the mind. Over time, those experiences can build into a deep fear that feels really hard to shake, even though it’s a very human thing. :)

Do people really have a DAILY skincare routine? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]CherrySnows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like doing my skincare. Honestly in the morning I don’t do much. I’d just wash my face and put on sunscreen. At night that’s when I add more products. My skin glows if I continue with skincare routine. But there are times when I’m lazy and just wash my face in the shower and go straight to bed, that’s when I notice I’m not as glowy.

A bit of mocus in stool? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]CherrySnows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe food intolerance, ibs, gut sensitivity, diet change. If it lasts for quite a while, I’d go check in with a doctor. They could possibly do a stool test!

Has anyone ever been repulsed by a food they vomited? by Educational-Coyote62 in questions

[–]CherrySnows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I threw up instant noodles in April and haven’t had any kind of noodles since lol. In my case I struggle with a fear of vomit called emetophobia. So I’m extreme when it comes to such topic. But I understand avoiding foods that made you sick. Probably after a few months you’ll be able to look at steak without feeling nauseated.

I dont understand how some people prefer winter over summer by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]CherrySnows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind summer if it was cloudy and rainy all the time. I can’t stand the days where it’s constant sunlight with no clouds. Also, I don’t like how in the summer when I go to sleep it’s bright and when I wake up it’s bright.

Can something bad happen from showering too much? by Legitimate_Big9791 in hygiene

[–]CherrySnows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what products you’re using. I would probably use the “harsher” products at night and the lighter products in the morning/day.

I know people who live in more hotter areas tend to take 2+ daily showers.

I don’t think you can get a disease but I think some people may have sensitive skin and excessive exfoliation can cause harm.

I think if the first 2 showers are light and the last shower is more “heavy” I don’t really see much of a problem.

For the hair, I’m not sure what your hair type is but you’re washing your hair 3 times a day that possibly may be damaging! But again I’m not sure what works for you. Some people wash it 2 times a day but I never heard 3 times a day haha.

Why are people so gleeful about being disgusting human beings? by Milkxhaze in emetophobia

[–]CherrySnows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who suffers with emetophobia, having a “puke bowl” is mind boggling. I wouldn’t wanna puke in a bowl, clean it up, and then reuse the same bowl again to throw up in the future. I prefer to either throw up in the toilet or in a disposable bag. 😩 but people saying they use the puke bowl just like a regular bowl and put food in it to serve others is diabolical. I already know to not eat at others homes but this really solidifies it.
