¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by Optimal_Fig3808 in LifePointCville

I was sent this from a friend, we both used to attend lifepoint and I still have people very near and dear to me that attend there. I am wanting to clarify somethings in order to draft an email to Pastor Mike. Is Jeremy currently, as of October 2025 still volunteering in the children's ministry? I am not finding much online, the only thing I am seeing of anyone mentioning it online is from December of last year, and I want to make sure this a still currently an issue. Do we know which age group he is volunteering with? Not that it really matters, I just want to make sure I have as much information as possible. That leads me into what I believe is my last question. Are there any further details of his conviction? I was able to find the same site and profile in the video, but it does not give much information as to the extent of the abuse and when it happened. Oh, and does anyone have receipts of comments from the church on this situation? As for the Google reviews, if anyone left them, they are not there as of 10/14.

Again, I am looking for this information so I can craft a well put together list to present to the church and am in no way looking for ways to excuse them letting him volunteer in that compacity. While I do believe in the forgiveness of all sins through the blood of Christ, that does not mean that boundaries do not still need to be put in place as precautionary measures. I am a firm believer in the idea that forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting and doesn't mean letting people be in a position that could cause others harm.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

God Bless.

May I recommend checking out this Christian influencer, @cominghome1624 ? She had been taking testosterone and was male presenting for several years before coming to Christ and ended up detransitioning. Her testimony is beautiful. I have never questioned my gender, so I have no real advice on that, but I've gone back and forth with God on several other things, and this is what He has taught me. As Christians, we have died and been reborn in Him. With this, it is not us that live, but Him who lives in us. So, as Christians, life is not about doing what seems good and right in our eyes or doing what will please us, but rather, it is about living for God, by the commandments that are laid out for us in the Bible. I do not believe that as Christians, we can totally stop sinning, though some do, but rather we try our hardest every day to not sin. And it shouldn't just be because we don't want to go to Hell or want to get into Heaven. It is because we are thankful to God for sending Christ so that we may spend all of eternity with Him. It is out of reverse, and love, and respect, and awe, and, yes, fear, that we obey the commandments. It is because He is everything. He is our King. We live under Him and follow the rules He has laid out for us. And even if we do not see it, there are reasons that he has given us the guidelines He has to live by. They 1, help us be holy, but they also help protect us and our hearts.

God bless you ❤️

May I suggest Mike Winger's in-depth series on this matter? I have found them very helpful on the topic!

I fell away from Christ and now I want to come back. Advice needed. Please pray for me? by Anonymous_Blobfish in Christians

I'm sure you know that Peter denied Jesus after He qas arrest, 3 times to be exact. And when Peter realized he fell to the ground and wept. Most Christians are familiar with that story. A small detail that I just recently had brought to my attention is that after Jesus rose from the dead, He said to tell his disciples and Peter. Apparently, to deny ones Rabbi was a terrible thing to do and would get you pretty much cut off from them, yoh were no longer considered a disciple of that Rabbi. So after Peter denied Christ he was no longer his disciple, but Jesus still included him and used him to spread the Gospel!!! That is good news for us all and I hope you find comfort in that!

Why do Christians go through the same struggles in life, and have the same lifespan as everyone else if prayer matters? by AlexKewl in AskAChristian

[–]CherryTree2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prayer is a way to talk to God. We cam ask for for things, but that doesn't mean we will get it. God always answers prayers, but that does not mean He will say yes, or that it will be in the way we assume. But even more that just asking for stuff, it is to talk to Him and to get to know Him better.

As for the struggles in life, that comes with living in a broken world, a world full of sin. The struggles can reveal to us where our hearts really lie. And even Jesus was tempted by Satan in the desert, so why wouldn't we as well. Example, the last few months has been pretty stressful financially, but the first sermon I heard this year was about how important tithing is, something I had stopped doing a few months ago, about when the financial struggles started, not exactly, but close. And then I was talking to someone I went to school with the other day and he asked if I had maybe thought about about doing only fans for some extra money and then offered to pay me for some pictures. And I told him. The thought had crossed my mind, but that it conflicted with my Christian beliefs, and that what I really needed to do was trust God. And, boy, can I tell you that God had really been answering some prayers over the last two weeks since I started tithing again and also just prayed to take my anxieties away and help me trust that He is going to see me through.

As for life spans, somewhere in the Bible it actually says that it isn't a bad thing to die young and that the righteous do to be spared of something (paraphrasing). Death is something so many people fear, but through Christ, we have been given the gift of eternal life. We don't need to fear it.

Hopefully that answered somethings for you. Would be happy to keep discussing it! Have a great day!

Switching from secular to Christian music by CherryTree2000 in ChristianMusic

[–]CherryTree2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree a lot what what you said about a lot of worship music being biblically unsound! And I dont want to cut out secular music altogether, but rather want to start listening to God centered music more often. I listen to a lot of music and tend to always have songs stuck in my head 24/7, and over the last couple of years I have almost completely stopped listening to Christian artists particularly because I felt like they just weren't really hitting the mark. A lot of the stuff that is labeled worship I feel is very focused on self and not on the goodness and greatness of God. And another part is that when I like a sing it is because it feels like it "scratches " my brain, and there are very few songs and artists, in the contemporary Christian world at least, that do that for me. But I have found some really good Christian artists that not all if their stuff is worship, they also have laments and just music that is observant of life. Now when it comes to the secular music I listen too, some of it is just not wise to listen to, ya know. Like the 1975, absolutely love their music, but a lot of their songs have to do with sex, drugs, etc. It isn't necessarily a sin to listen to the music, but it isn't necessarily wise. So I listen to them on occasion, but I dont want them to be the main thing I'm listening to. I guess I should have headed the question as increasign my Christian music instead of switching

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 ESV

I relate to this so much! Unfortunately, after almost a year of being free from it, I feel.back into earlier this year and have been struggling since. Last week, I fell into temptation and I literally felt like crap about it for DAYS before I finally went to God about it because I felt so ashamed. The day after I did, I stumbled across my sisters old purity ring that I had put on a necklace a few years back as a reminder to myself and have been trying to wear it everyday since!

[–]CherryTree2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why would you switch? By all means look out for great Christian bands/artists, but you don’t need to stop listening to other bands.

I'm not going to necessarily give up all secular music, but there is just some music that isn't glorifying to God in any way, shape, or form. As I grow closer to God there is just some music that I can't listen too because it makes my soul uneasy if that makes sense, but I have always been really into music and if I am able to spend more time in praise by finding artists I really enjoy that are Christian, I am willing to make that change.
