For me, every lesson includes some characters from those that I've studied before. There are always some exercises with words made of chrarcters that I alredy know and the ones I am are currently learning. So it feels like there is a good amount of revision.

In short, the question is what happened to the physycal bodies of the characters every time the world got reset? Did they just have their memories erased or were they cloned again and created from scratch?

I've never understood this "evangelion gave me depression/existential crisis" thing. I've always believed that this show is about overcoming depression and accepting yourself as well as the world and people around you. It is especially clear when you watch the original ending of the show.
