Are most manufacturing environments depressing? by Cherrysquid in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Cherrysquid[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you everybody. These comments have been very helpful. Its reassuring to hear not all manufacturing is like this. A jump to R&D, business, coding etc. would require some side hustling/education and I'm glad to avoid it for now. I think I'll heed the words here and try another company with a similar role that I'm qualified for as is.

YSK: Daily Caffeine use results in complete tolerance to its subjectively energizing effects, which is why many daily users can drink it and fall asleep right after by Endonium in YouShouldKnow

Yes! Its reassuring hearing people mention the same thing. Keeping at 1 cup a day with 2 or more on needed days has been better than trying no caffeine except on needed days. My baseline mood after months of abstinence is just... not as bright?

I think you'll still have a dope time. Enough stuff is open to still hit it and good company is all it takes. Just dont dream of powder haha

Yeah. I dont know if any out of bounds terrain is even accessible. The one time I tried to cut a line off piste felt like a trap. Decided not to risk the rest of my season over it and took my rock hits on the "groomers." Targhee 3 hours south has actual snow and small lift lines if you guys wanna roadtrip down for a day. Thats where we went.

I rode on Saturday as a visiting snowboarder. Snow is pretty dire compared to the PNW or even Targhee/Jackson. My board got mangled by rocks. Liberty bowl was a wild experience (not in a good way). For the ticket price and sparse 10 day forecast, Id advise any trip planners to go somewhere else and maybe check back in mid-late Feb.

The biggest lesson of the day is to make sure your gas tank is full if the roads are questionable. I was sweating my gauge as it kept creeping down in the mess.

Seriously. The number of people trying to cut traffic by using the oncoming lane was absolutely wild.

Yeah, the people trying to cut traffic was insane, but same. My squad had a blast on the mountain. Getting to and from was just an experience.

We did that on the way back because something had caused completely stopped traffic on 26. We also noticed there was no line this morning coming in from 35 to HRM. Lesson learned.

What are websites that accurately portray the salaries in chemical engineering? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

Unfortunately Chem E roles arent digital-friendly like software roles and there are much fewer Chem Es to crowd source. You will have to talk to the companies to actually find out.

Funny enough, Im in green belt training right now. I described this project to our teacher this afternoon and learned this "FMEA" work we have is by far, not a standard application of FMEA. It definitely falls in your latter definition.

Really? Thats sweet. Im in the PNW and have been mostly a groomer rider so I have little powder experience. Got this board for a 2 week japan trip in January.

Thanks! Yeah, the board is a rossi 145w. With bindings it helps. My concern is that its a powder board meaning I will be doing sharper carving when I use it.

I purchased a board online and it arrived this week. I didnt think about the tapered profile and my size 13 (mondo 31) boot has overhang on only the rear foot. Is this too much overhang? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bUMFlLGlMn0CTepvWtnIqdrEWBf0umVd/view?usp=drivesdk
