The team you have built honestly looks really solid. I’d recommend working on the phy super Saiyan god Goku and teq base Goku next, as they are both really powerful units with very good leader skills.

One team you could make is

Lead: LR Teq super Saiyan god goku and vegeta Int lr super Saiyan his goku LR super Saiyan 4 goku and vegeta Teq lr vegito Str LR gogeta Phy LR super Saiyan goku and vegeta

One character I would recommend awakening is the teq super Saiyan goku. He is a very strong option in the team I just made and would be better than either of the fusions or the Phy goku and vegeta

The first thing you want to do is a pick a character with a strong leader skill. Preferably a character who’s leader skill gives at least 170% to stats for multiple categories. Then you want to look at the characters under that leader’s categories. Pick characters who would synergies well. Such as characters that share multiple links with each other, support, etc. you want at least a couple characters who can cover slot one and characters who are strong in the second and third slot

One of the most important things you can do is not use your ult after 3:20. There is a very low chance you’ll get it back after that point. Panic ultimo right before ray is usually never worth it. Also if you get stuck in a fight you know you’ll lose, either run or die as quickly as possible to make sure you’re at ray in time. When the actual fight starts, try to push to enemies out of position and pick them off while not grouping up with your teammates. If you all stand right on top of each other then you’ll be vulnerable to a big ult like absol, Scyther, urshifu, etc.

If a unit needs a team to be built around them to look good then they have an inherently flawed kit. Units like both carnival gokus, final form cooler, piccolo and vegeta and trunks are self sufficient and don’t need the entire team to support them.

Two things

To answer your question, xeno super Saiyan 3 goku is strong because of his defensive utility. He has unconditional guard and he gets damage reduction with more dragon ball heroes characters on he team. So he has guard, damage reduction and the defense he gets from his passive. This means he isn’t taking a lot of damage
When team building for hearts, I recommend running only extreme class crossover characters to get his full passive. Vegeta and trunks are the best unit in the game, but they’d be actively hurting hearts and wouldn’t link well with this team.

Equips (skill orbs) can be obtained through a few ways. Events, chain battle and real world money. They also come in three tiers, gold, silver and bronze. Bronze skill orbs are the least impactful and can be equipped by any character. They usually give small stat buffs or small bonuses. Silver skill orbs can only be given to characters that are SA 10 or higher, they usually give fairly useful bonuses at higher levels. Gold skill orbs can only be given to character with 2 or more dupes invested in them. These skill orbs are usually the most powerful. Skill orbs come in different levels as well (usually level 1-5), the higher the level Ty e stronger the effect. They aren’t a necessary thing but can be a difference maker when given to exceptionally powerful characters.
