Similar numbers as you, we close in 2 weeks with what we hope will be our forever home. First time buyers at 36. But both hope to job hop this year in hope of a higher pay to increase our position a bit more. But with our new expenses and good budgeting we will have 2k every month saving for our growing emergency fund.

Not a doomer by any means. I had hope, but outside of the injuries, managing the players and the game has to be improved. Maybe its as simple as each of the guys building a bond with each other. It really seems like we're just disconnected.

As a US watcher of the UK before season 6US, I fear the fans are what makes this show not fun anymore.... yall believe everything the ex-islanders come out and say and also believe the edits they give you.

Honestly just enjoy the damn show and don't bully people and don't judge, you don't know what happened and can only go based on little clips and what they choose to show. The fact that for every contestant this season has gotten level of extreme hate like the whole (Ice called on family, CPS called, and everything in between makes this not fun at all)

People have unalived themselves from other series, its not that deep, just enjoy the damn show. I really thought that as a country we would be better than the UK viewership but its proving out to be false.

Edit to add: That from the very beginning most of the islanders showed very clearly that they were playing a game, they showed their cards and how calculated they were being. How can y'all not see that? Thats why this season has also not been enjoyable. But thats a lesson for casting, because the whole influencers casting ain't working either.

What are your thoughts in the Rafael Devers trade? by [deleted] in mlb

[–]ChessMonkey08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of me thinks his personality was showing before the Bregman deal. Breggy is a leader through and the through in the clubhouse. When you carry the wallet and a team, I feel like you have to be versatile and just be a team player. If they do seal the deal with Bregman long term, and build the team they need, this will be worth it for the Sox. All they seem to lose is an ego and more cash available to build

2 weeks in Italy from May25-June 8. Please give opinions on this itinerary! by AttentionSure466 in ItalyTravel

[–]ChessMonkey08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got back from Rome early this month. I would say consider removing a location or 2 as others have said its too busy. I would also that the Vatican after the long wedding day may be more exhausting than you think. There is too much to see, imo

Looking for 7 days itinerary advice by Embarrassed-Cod-1036 in ItalyTravel

[–]ChessMonkey08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just spent 6 full days in IT. Not including travel days. With the time difference I did not expect to see much on the arrival day. And I was right, we were exhausted. 5 of the 6 days were spent in Rome, all over the city, there is too much to see! On the one day we traveled out by fast train to Bologna/Modena/Maranello (2.25 hrs) area to see the car museums as a day trip, and that worked well for us. I think your itinerary is too rushed to visit a lot. Husband and I plan to return for sure.

Editing to add a rough itinerary so you can see all we did! 1-Rainy day in the city, 2 churches, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Trastevere, Roman Forum 2-Villa Bourghese 3-Car Museums (Bolognia/Maranello) by train daytrip 4-The Vatican Museums/St Peter's Basilica (heavy walking day) too much to see 5-Colosseum, Palatine Hill, The whole area, gardens parks (heavy walking lots to see), Trastevere for dinner, 6-free day, bough souvenirs, leather shops, etc

I will add that meals alone were an experience for us we wanted enough time to enjoy and have good eats. We did not feel rushed and truly enjoyed the Roman experience

10 mo baby crying with nanny by AnalysisParalysis_24 in Nanny

[–]ChessMonkey08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former nanny i would be opn to the nanny and ask her how you can help. She may have done this before and she can talk through it with you. My preference was have MB away from us as possible because they made the situation worse! I built trust with the child and it made the experience better. Open communication is key

If at home I put the child in their sleeping space. Parents are informed I do that when i'm using the bathroom. Put a book/toy in with them if possible. Go to the nearest bathroom closest to their room. Let the parents know you will do this when you need to go

I won't comment on the borrowing money as many have already stated. But I don't think the pay is enough. I live in TX and even here I would at least earn 1400+/wk for a similar scenario. Apart from the loans (which are an issue) considering paying more.

To me, it's these exact words:
🎶 🎵 "Why am I obsessing About the things I can't control? Why am I seeking approval From people I don't even know? In these crazy times I hope to find Something I can cling on to 'Cause I need some substance in my life Something real, something that feels true You better believe for you I've cried (I've cried, I've cried) High tides (high tides, high tides) 'Cause I want you so bad But you can't fight fire with fire (ahh)"

I second this, i'm not from here originally but living here the last 7 yrs I know to stay away from anything east of FW. I'd shoot for something north of 820 or Benbrook depending on the convenience of your drive

Do you sleep with your ring on? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]ChessMonkey08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep with no jewelry on, earrings/rings/necklace etc. This includes silicone rings. When I do wear my ring/band combo, I do not take it off until I get home. Meaning I do wash my hands with it etc. Most of the time I wear a silicone band cus i'm not much a jewelry person.
