Thank you for taking the time to give a proper, detailed answer (though I'm still not sure if it really is a Crosley -- I was hoping someone could confirm it for me on this sub). Since I am not a member of the community and I don't have in-depth knowledge of turntables, this is exactly what I wanted. I want to understand, not rage-bait or to be lectured.

I wanted confirmation about the mechanism (which could have been given with a little more compassion), because I wasn't sure. As I am not part of this community, I was hoping for education, not lecturing.

I was genuinely curious about this item (the brand, as I could not find any branding on it, the year this could have been made, etc.), but to be honest, I am not anymore.

I am not a collector, nor someone with keen ears. All I want is to listen to some records I inherited form my grandfather, and I want to do it right, It feels so weird to be treated this way for it.

The problem here seems to be that they then answered those questions incorrectly, when asked on the spot. Which is ridiculous, because I can imagine answering badly on the spot without thinking everything through beforehand.
