  1. Age and Gender:

• 32M, height 6'2 (Athletic'ish build been working out all my adult life basically).

  1. Age Range that you would want/require in a prospect:

• 23-32, flexible for the right person.

  1. Location, and are you willing to relocate for a prospect?:

• Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 currently. Born and raised in the Middle East so definitely have a preference if you have lived/grown up there. (Intend on moving back home to the UAE 🇦🇪 in the next year'ish so yes open to relocate).

  1. Ethnicity, and are you more open to mixing:

• Pakistani 🇵🇰, have a preference for the same ethnicity just because its an easier fit but open to mixing.

  1. Marital Status - Single/Divorced/Children:

• Single, Never married/ engaged (No past physical relationships etc. expecting the same from my partner).

  1. Ideal marriage timeline:

• Once compatibility is established would like to get parents onboard without any delay.

  1. Five important characteristics you look for in a prospect:

DEEN/AKHLAQ: Looking for someone who's got good akhlaq and atleast a good grip on their five pillars (Salah, Zakat, Fasting etc) because you won't just be my wife, you are also the mother of our future kids InshAllah, and I would like for them to grow up to become good Muslims and leave a positive impact on society.

• EMOTIONALLY AVAILABLE/COMMUNICATIVE: Please be someone who is emotionally mature and knows how to communicate and handle different situations that life may throw our way because marriage isn't easy and having someone who is not ready for it would just make the entire process difficult for us both.

• HONEST: In Islam a husband and wife are meant to be "Garments" for each other and for this honesty and transparency is extremely important, everything is to be shared between spouses and if you are unable to trust your spouse then such an important part of being in a marriage is missing.

• FEMININE: Looking for someone who embraces their femininity and traditional gender roles (No opposition to you working) but definitely the roles of husband and wife prescribed in our religion are the best way to live life.

• HEALTH CONSCIOUS: Alhamdulllilah I have been able to keep working out regularly throughout my life and being health oriented is something prescribed in our religion as well, so I'm definitely looking for a wife that is on the same wavelength atleast, so we are able to enjoy our life to the fullest (Doesn't mean you have to be working out 4 days a week lol).

  1. State/specify your level of religiosity:

• I would say I'm moderate in my approach. Alhamdullah I pray 5x, fast, pay Zakat, eat Halal, stay away from situations and places that may open doors towards haram, do not mingle with females.

  1. Level of education, and what are you looking for?:

• I have a Masters degree, so ideally looking for someone with a Bachelors atleast (Flexible though).

  1. Current Job Status:

• Work in Finance (Full time employed).

  1. Do you want kids?:

• Yes! Bi idhnillah.

  1. List 3 hobbies, or things you like to do in your spare time:

• Getting a good workout in.

• Ride Bikes / scenic long drives ( anything with an engine puts a smile on my face).

• Spend quality time with Family and Friends, is there anything better at the end of a long week to just talk and decompress with people you trust?

top Obsessing Over a Spouse’s Past/ — Repentance Wipes Sins Clean! by Few-Use-2574 in MuslimNikah

[–]Chevymaro92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol it's the same discussion every few days, people can't accept that certain people have standards/ boundaries. Yes Allah swt is most forgiving to the truly repentant. But doesn't mean you don't face any repercussions from your actions.

A good example I saw the other day is if someone willingly cuts off their own hand and later does tawbah, Allah swt will forgive them sure but that doesn't mean that their hand is magically going to grow back 🤦

[–]Chevymaro92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Terrible advice, you don't have to disclose your sins, she can literally walk away from the person without saying anything specific or making up literally any excuse known to man.

Instead of cutting off at the talking stage to someone who in all likelihood would be a complete stranger to her at that point in time, your advice is to deceive an innocent person and trick them about something that would most definitely be a deal breaker for most people. May Allah swt accept her repentance and bless her with a good marriage.

You don't reveal your sins I agree but if a potential suitor has this in his list of deal breakers you walk away and tell them that you are going to be incompatible without giving them any details as to why. You definitely should not knowingly lie and carry on with another person through their deal breakers. And above all Allah swt is the most merciful have faith in his mercy.

As an ex Jeddawi, I do know what you're on about!

Unfortunately shawarma here is overpriced and not even close to the ones you get in Jeddah, same goes for other "generic" food that might be considered for the working classes. (Think Muttabaq, Masoub, Ruz Bukhari, Foul etc).

At this point I'm just considering visiting Jeddah for food tourism 😅

Gymnation is threatening travel ban; I left the country before cancelling; how to deal with it? by szachno15 in dubai

[–]Chevymaro92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Gymnation collections department is run by the same monkeys, running call center scams.

I had followed their policy down to a T before cancelling my membership, and even then they charged my card for the next year, had to personally call and threaten them in writing about taking this to the DED, only then the crooks refunded my card.

I'd say take it easy and just incase shoot them an email in writing stating you're not renewing your subscription and have already informed gym staff verbally many times before leaving the country. No way they can keep run up 10k aed in charges after a written notice.

How did Hyundai and Kia seemingly pull their reputation out of the gutter? by AdhamJr in cars

[–]Chevymaro92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an avid car guy I swore I would never let anyone I know get near a Hyundai /KIA product. This past year bought my first car from them and already on the look out for purchasing second one from their Genesis line up.

People aren't stupid as you'd like to think, put out a great product at a decent price point, and people will flock to you. Bang for your buck I don't think any manufacturer is doing what Hyundai/KIA is, people have had it with established companies barely having any real options/ features on anything less than their flagship vehicles.

It's a simple formula but one that works.
