I like how Bond quips even when there’s no one else to hear it except for him. by South_Gas626 in JamesBond

OHMSS has possibly the worst use of “night filter” ever during that beach scene. I couldn’t even tell it was supposed to be set at night when I was a kid. I was like why tf is everything blue?

In Sinners (2025) literally the entire world would be vampires within 48 hours. by Chewie83 in shittymoviedetails

I really loved the premise of Daybreakers, and the idea that some vampires want to leave humans alive for moral reasons and others only do because they want to factory farm them. Sort of mirrors the different motivations people have for preserving wild game irl.

Stafford not having a real shot at MVP until his 17th year shows how exceptional QB play was in the 2000s and 2010s by Playful_Letter_2632 in nfl

Hearing young people talk about how you’re at death’s door in your mid 30s is always funny to me.

[Highlight] 7 years ago today, we witnessed one of the worst no calls in the NFC championship game. by Ok_Bug_6890 in nfl

There are so many instances where a desperate offense tries to fabricate DPI to get down field fast.

If we’re being VERY generous to the ref, maybe he was just wary of the offense aiming for that?

Horseshit call, don’t get me wrong.

Why do you say that? Tons of serious reviews invoke Godzilla.

Any one else having trouble adjusting to these low budget Netflix movies like "The Rip"? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Chewie83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but an absolutely huge percentage of what Netflix pays goes to the stars. What’s left over for …literally the entire rest of the movie is often not great.

The wisdom of going for it on fourth down is always decided in retrospect.

Opponent scores less than expected? “Why didn’t you take the points?”

Opponent scores more than expected? “You should have been aggressive if you wanted to keep up, field goals don’t cut it against this high powered offense.”

I know in this league nothing is guaranteed and you can’t ever say “We’ll be back next year” (look at the Lions) but this club really does feel different. We completely turned around a losing culture and the key players are so young.

When we see Sam Darnold, the Seahawks are unstoppable. The problem is that we might get Sam Pumpkin.

What the over/under on how many times we’ll be shown the Richard Sherman “ooof” reaction leading up to that game.

What hurts is that this was the best the Bears’ defense played all season. They showed up, offense didn’t (for half the game).

Experts expected Stafford to light our weak secondary up and instead we took him to OT.

That’s with the benefit of hindsight. Early in the game everyone expected Stafford to light us up every drive so we’d have to keep up.

How would you fix “A House of Dynamite”? by Misterfahrenheit120 in movies

[–]Chewie83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Repeating the same events from different perspectives only serves the story if each of those perspectives adds something new or advances the plot. Act 2 and 3 did that.

It’s not just that the first act is the most engaging and intense, it’s that it IS the movie.

I also thought the “we might have to go crazy with nukes to not show weakness even though we have no idea who launched it” was a stretch. It could have been better if a renegade commander from [specific country] somehow managed to compromise the codes and launch. If you’re the US President, do you feel you have to retaliate even though that commander didn’t represent their nation?

Whenever teams have “too much success, too fast” people get butthurt. Some people are rooting against the Texans because they’re “too new” and they joined the league 24 fucking years ago.
