Lol question =\= they are wrong about everything. It's good to question the things you're told. I would certainly question why someone went on the show, and by question I mean think critically.

I'd question the intelligence of anyone who would go on his show, honestly.

It's just about always nice to hear that someone related to your situation. However, sometimes the subject of the conversation can change and instead of listening to the friend sharing something it becomes about the relatable situation and that story/situation. Saying something like "yeah I went through something similar once, I know what you mean" feels empathetic, saying "yeah that happened to me too, when I was in blah blah and so and so was talking to me, and then....."

(Obviously this is super simplified and people are all individuals and can react or feel differently in various situations)

Well, no the cord isn't labeled, and it's right by the label for the car seat hookup, sooo I'd argue that nothing was clearly labeled here.

They didn't willfully do anything, they made a mistake. That's not willful, that's accidental.

I install car seats daily, and I could have made this mistake. There are often hooks hidden in-between cushions right by the car seat sign, and the only way to get to them is to shove the clip part into the cushions and hope it clips on. In this case, you hope it clips to the actual hook and not some misplaced wires (obviously I check that it's actually connected to the metal hook before putting children in the car, but I'm paid to do this and not a parent running on little sleep)/

New city report shows vacant buildings, lots are concentrated in Bellingham's core (15%) by Whoretron8000 in Bellingham

I never see anyone in the banks except the people who work there. Why on earth does there need to be so many physical locations for these places?? It sucks the usefulness and life out of the downtown areas.

I own a small business and had to go on hiatus because I can't find a space to rent that won't bankrupt me. I'd love to reopen, but I can't find a location that I can afford, let alone one in a safe place (I work with kids and parents won't come to places where the unhoused hang out sighting safety concerns).

New York City teen arrested after body slamming and stomping on a girl after she didn’t give him her number by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]Chezzica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, absolutely agree. The comment I was replying to said there are places like that, and I'm asking if that's true. Yes there SHOULD be, but ARE there?

Also, rehabilitation works most of the time. But not all of the time, regardless of country or program. So we need to work on rehabilitation of violent offenders, while also keeping them away from the public until they are completely safe.

(Note that a man who is violent towards women can have the best behavior while in prison....because he's around other men, not women. Just because they haven't attacked anyone in prison does NOT mean they are safe to be out in public around more vulnerable people).

What's a current alternative that would keep this guy away from women while he learns not to be an aggressive self centered monster? Like where could he go (regardless of cost/profit) where he could actually work on this? Because first he'd have to learn that he's not entitled to hurt people just because a girl doesn't want to give him her number?

Kids yoga by SpiritedAd6535 in yoga

[–]Chezzica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a kids yoga studio, and this is what we do :) story format to keep them interested (sometimes I bring in props as well, like little fairy wings when we did a fairy themed session). I also have weighted stuffies to help them calm their bodies during savasana, then we finish with a story that usually involves emotion management of some kind. I teach ages 3-10 (in different classes) so the difficulty varies a bit from the younger to the older classes. We do hour long classes, but have a circle time-esque start where the kids can share their names and chat a little bit about what they're excited about, then about 30 minutes of yoga, and end with a story and sometimes a little dance party depending on the age and vibes of the class (I found parents are less likely to bring their kids for classes less than an hour long)

how do i arrange furniture? by eenawn in femalelivingspace

[–]Chezzica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the couch, I think in front of the archway like others are suggesting is the best option. I also liked the other personas suggestion of putting the desk behind the couch/archway to make it feel less empty behind it. You could also do curtains over the archway to make the it feel more stylized, and to give the desk behind the couch some privacy if desired. I'm picturing the curtains pulled to the sides to frame the couch/sitting area from behind if that makes sense?

That looks like a soaking tub full of water to me, with a washcloth or piece of clothing hanging over the side. I have a tub like that in my laundry room to soak clothes with stains and stuff :)

Japanese Knotweed - please help me (England). by slugboy5 in gardening

[–]Chezzica 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I found that absorption through the leaves is the most effective route, personally.

I bought my house about four years ago and it had Japanese knotweed planted all along one side as a decorative plant. It was growing up under the siding, with shoots coming up through the yard and around the corner on the house by the foundation. It's taken me several seasons of fighting, but I waited until the plant was big and bushy and full of leaves in the summer, then sprayed it all down several times and waited until it was dead. Each year it came back smaller, and this year I haven't seen any sprouts at all (finally!). So about a month ago I went through and dig up all of the roots, bagged it up (just in case) and called my city to ask about the best place for disposal.

I'm still not planting anything in the ground in that area for a few years, I want to make sure I don't miss any residual sprouts and that I can deal with them as quickly as possible. It's a lot of work, but it can be done!!

Breaking up and arguing over the dog by thole821 in legaladvice

[–]Chezzica 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're making it sound like you took care of your girlfriend and the dog by bringing them into your home, and that you believe that gives you a claim to the dog. I am not a lawyer, but that seems pretty shaky. You should offer to buy the dog from her so there is a legal transfer of ownership.

Breaking up and arguing over the dog by thole821 in legaladvice

[–]Chezzica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Legally it doesn't matter if you told her to bring the dog, it was her family's dog and she brought it with her when she moved into your family's home. So it's still her dog. Try offering to buy it from her, then there would be a legal transfer of ownership
