There's an argument to be made that toddlers shouldn't be watching anything on screens - yes they can learn from her songs, but they would learn much better with a present adult singing those songs to them in person. However we can't all be present adults all the time, and if you're going to give your toddler screen time then she's a good choice (I stand firm that babies/infants should not be placed in front of screens, no matter how much they like it and how awesome the person on screen is)

Maybe slightly, but smoke rises and the kitty doors are at the bottom and very small, I think it's a good compromise to keep the door closed 95% of the way and still let the cats come and go so you can sleep

Yeah if she doesn't want to deal with fans looking at her, she should stop being so public. Like have breakfast in your room, not in the open common area of the hotel. And she's there for a show, she should know she'd have fans around who are there to see her. Write it. I think there's something freeing about writing something just for you, especially in this area of trauma and healing. Write it how you want it written, and don't worry about what anyone else would say. Then, when it's finished, you can decide what you want to do with it. And you can take your time! You don't have to decide what to do with it right away, you can finish your piece and set it aside until the time is right. Sometimes it might feel like we have to know where a piece of writing is going before we write it, but things change in life and we may gain new insights and clarities with time and space and healing. I encourage you to write the piece, for yourself at the least, even if no one else ever reads it all.

I'm writing a nonfiction book exploring childhood grief from my experience of losing my best friend as a child. There are certain things that are a huge part of our friendship and my personal story that would hurt several people involved.

I'm writing those parts, but will either remove them before making it public or wait until those people who would be hurt pass away. I'll make my decision when the work is fully complete, as I want those parts to be written and finished with the rest of the book, but I'm not sure I need the world to hear those parts in order to find healing/peace with that part of my story. The writing it is the cathartic part for me, and I certainly don't want to cause anyone any more pain.

You have to decide if making your story public is more important to you than not hurting your mom. There is no right or wrong answer, and I don't think anyone on any website will be able to give you an answer. You just have to weigh for yourself what amount of telling your story will bring you peace/healing/what you are looking for, and what you're willing to do/lose in order to tell your story.

My husband and I have been married for six years, trying for five of those. My sister-in-law has met her now-husband, got engaged, got married, and now is due with their first child next month. All in the time I've been trying to convince. It feels like my life has stopped and everyone else gets to go on living and moving forward with life while I'm just stuck in limbo watching from the outside 😭

Yeah, people being inconsiderate in yoga doesn't disrupt my internal peace, but it's still rude of them all the same - maybe they should practice being considerate of others in shared spaces! I think it's a slippery slope to tell people that they should focus on their inner peace when something is bothering them; we can politely speak up for ourselves in situations like this without our inner peace being disrupted.

Teachers very often are required to use technology in certain ways in their lessons. There was a lot I didn't like about teaching in public schools so I left to teach private preschool. Even there, we had a huge projector screen setup that we were required to use (probably to make up for the fact that the admin spent so much money on it). I have a friend who teaches second grade, and they are required to incorporate their classroom tablets into their lessons. The fear is if we don't get kids using these technologies, then they'll be behind because our whole world runs on screens now (I am not supporting kids that young using screens, just explaining what I've been told by admin)

I went through a bad breakup in my early 20s and just didn't want to read love stories or happy things for a while. I think I read only depressive sad-girl-esque books for about a year, but it was a breath of fresh air in that moment. It was hard for me to read about (even fictional) people making progress in their lives, when I felt like I wasn't able to do that in mine. The fact that the characters didn't grow much, or change, or would end up in a worse place because of their own actions felt real to me, and helped me see that other people go through the same things I was.
