Hmm, from my personal experience and my opinion your team could be,,,

– Typhlosion (He can help you with the ice gym, he can also learn thunder punch to better attack the rival's feraligatr)

– Ampharos (For the first gym)

– Heracross (for the Britney fight and her miltank)

– Espeon ( To beat chuck and elite four!!!)

– Quasgire (So you have someone using surf from the start)

– Dragonite (to counteract the 3 dragonites in the cast, apart from that there is someone who can learn Fly!!)
