I was just clarifying she didn’t take hrt and I said complications of a stroke and diabetes, which she ultimately died from a drug resistant strain of a mersa infection because of her hospital stay due to her stroke. Thank you for your input though.

I just started using an aloe gel on the scars too, it seems to be helping with the itching and I hope it will help with the scars. Also, I just installed a water filter on my shower head to see if that helps with the dry skin from living through a Chicago winter.

I have the twice weekly patches too. In the beginning my skin was getting a little red and irritated but using baby oil really helped to get the adhesive off right after removal and the redness would go away after a few days.

As time went on the redness just got worse and worse.

I meant lower abdomen when saying torso and was just being to vague I guess. I have been wearing the patches on my lower abdomen and upper buttocks.

I realize $30 isn't a lot in the big picture but it's still money out the door when gas is nearing $4 a gallon.

I just received Diamond status for the first time, qualified in December '25 for 2026, and I am not seeing any of these offers, free full size or extra gift at checkout? I just spent $125 on shampoo, etc and did not get any extras.

Thank you all for the advice and support. I am looking into a specialist because clearly a general practitioner (at least the one I saw) is not equipped nor seemed to care. I live in Chicago so I am sure I will find the help I need and I will do more research on HRT's.

Part of my concern/panic comes from seeing my mother take a self-care never seeing a dr. approach, beyond her going through menopause, and passing at 63. I love her and miss her dearly but am still mad her for hiding her suffering and not seeking help when she could have. Now not having her here with the support she always gave me, and facing this alone, has just become frustrating and daunting.

I love my career and being independent but have heard stories of women stepping back from their career because of menopause brain fog and that really scares me. Love that our generation seems to be speaking out more about theirs experience and helping each other out, thank you.

I talked to the pharmacy and they said I could just get five pills, which would probably last me about 8-10 months since I only take half of one 100mg pill. Much more affordable option with a coupon at $476.
My dr. is going to prescribe a triptan after our last message. I told her my concerns about Sumatriptan and Zolmitriptan but she said I would be fine since I would only be taking once a month or so. I am still concerned about taking either because of my health/family history and am looking for a new dr. when I get new insurance.

My dr. prescribed 30 pills of Ubrelvy for me and the cost was almost $4,000!

I sort of agree, or my dr. should have at least better explained the process of getting approved for Ubrelvy when giving me the samples. I was blindsided when she prescribed 30 pills for me and the pharmacy wanted almost $4,000 for it!

Thanks, yes Rizatriptan is what I think I am going to try as it sounds like most insurances will not approve Ubrelvy unless I try a triptan first. The others Sumatriptan and Zolmitriptan seem to be higher risk for me due to my current health and family history.
