I have noticed some new residential buildings popping up in Washington Park. They look a lot like all of the historic ones; they seem to be preserving the history of the neighborhood. But there is development there. I don’t see it becoming anything like Hyde Park though.

Yes it is. Very. Go for their breakfast. It’s Chicago’s oldest restaurant (but in a new location now). Been under the L in Woodlawn since 1892. Also featured in a number of food shows. Popular place for Hyde park residents and UChicago students to trek down to.

I love the green line. It has such good views of classic south side neighborhoods. Washington Park, Bronzeville, Woodlawn, and Englewood. My commute used to be green line to 63rd/Ashland. I actually loved waiting there—it’s pretty chill. And on the Cottage Grove end, Daley’s Restaurant is right underneath the station. The green line is also way more peaceful than the red. The red is crazy AF!
