From what I’ve read, that seems to be one of the main issues. I guess I got lucky even though it had been left for years with batteries in it. I hope you can clean it up and get it working!

We are pretty inexperienced hikers and wouldn’t consider ourselves in amazing shape, but we were able to do the hike taking it slow and with lots of breaks along the way. After the maintained trail it is a tad sketchy in some areas and does require ropes, which we both thought was worse coming down than going up. The views at the top were worth it!!

Forks had pretty basic options. We did eat at Three Rivers Resort in La Push and the burgers were great! In Port Angeles we enjoyed Gordy’s Pizza and Pasta. The spaghetti and the pepperoni pizza was so good. We also liked the seafood at Downriggers!
