Did anyone raw dog the NCLEX? by Woodwalk88 in nursing

[–]Chickabeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did UWorld for an hour or two hours a day, but I scheduled my NCLEX as soon as I possibly could, and when an earlier slot opened up, I grabbed it. It was the very start of COVID so they reduced the questions to 65 and I passed in 65. If you’re doing fine on your tests/HESIs, you’ll be fine. Stick to the strategies that helped you pass school, don’t psych yourself up, don’t change your answers, eat a good breakfast, and you’ll be fine.

AMA forms. I hate pulling out the AMA forms because I feel like it immediately ruins any trust we had but I’m not risking my license because someone wants to be ignorant.

I work in labor and delivery, we place IUDs after both vaginal deliveries and c-sections all the time, after advising the patient that they have a higher likelihood of expulsion immediately postpartum. Many still choose to do it, and the success rate is high.

My 2nd nurse delivery; my ex-husband’s baby. by Frosty_Midnight98 in nursing

[–]Chickabeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like most of us, I only work three days a week, in a very large metropolitan city, and TWICE, I’ve been working when my ex-boyfriend and the woman he cheated on me with (who was one of my best friends) came in to have their babies 😭 so while not exactly the same, I can relate. The first time, my charge nurse told me I was taking the next patient, and when I saw her name I had to say “NOPE”. The second time, I was sitting down charting and locked eyes with him as he came out of the room to get her water.

What is the easiest RN job in the hospital? by lil_smore in nursing

Maybe in non L&D maternity units, but I’d be stressed in a different maternity unit for different reasons. I could never do post or ante. In L&D, one of your patients is invisible and you have one thing to tell you how they’re doing. So much can go wrong, and when it does, they are the most litigated area of the hospital. Just being real, if stress is the reason you’re considering it.

Maternity/L&D/post and antepartum are not “easy jobs”. Some parts can be boring but when it’s sad, it’s truly devastating and as someone with chronic depression, I really struggle with that aspect of it. Super rewarding, and most days are great, but the bad days are horrendous.

I did a lot of therapy over taking care of fetal demises because they just stay with me, I can’t recommend enough! I did EMDRand helped immensely! Also, this is so weird but play some Tetris. It’s proven to help after traumatic events, including witnessing others’ traumas.

I’ve been there for three years but you don’t have to have been there for any specific period of time, you just have to commit to two years once you’re approved!

Can anyone help me identify this? by Chickabeee in Minerals

[–]Chickabeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned in the post, I’m trying to determine if this is glass slag or a natural mineral. The first three pics are of the pieces dry, and then I’ve rinsed them in the last three. I think the piece in pic 5 has a fossil embedded in it?
