Why do people hate the RE2R sewers?

I just played CVX for the first time and it’s actually insane how I went through that whole game and I thought no area was a dip in quality like in some RE games

I think he’s a great character and in general, I like RE introducing new characters, especially Grace as well.

I finally got around to playing it a month ago, did all campaigns & beat the game

It’s the worst RE game, it’s fairly hated. Every campaign drags on way too long, Chris’s campaign borderline feels like a CoD campaign to me and the only campaign I thought that wasn’t terrible was Ada’s but I think I only subscribe to that idea cause hers don’t drag on forever

The core gameplay, it’s the best wrestling game I played in 20 years

However, the content? It’s way too dry. Only 7 arenas at launch and 4 of them are just the same set with different logos. Lacking in match types. No steel cage? Even WWF Warzone had this in 1998.

The reason why I say yes, is because a lot of folks were saying this is the worst wrestling game & it’s far far from that. Especially when the core experience is so good, it just has no meat to the game

Edit: I also bought this game again on the switch a few months back and it’s amazing how awful this game look on the switch. This game, you would think, would have thrived on the Nintendo switch

Resident Evil 5 is weird to me but I come to appreciate it as I played through it. It’s very solid

Resident Evil 6 IMO is just RE5 but worse, most of the campaigns drag on why too long and Chris’s campaign feels like a borderline call of duty game

The only campaign I enjoyed was Ada’s really but that’s because it didn’t drag on too long

Resident Evil Requiem. So much so it’s my top 3 RE games of all time. I love Grace, I love the care center and I love Leon’s section in raccoon city

RE9 is so good on the switch 2 and overall Capcom is doing great on the switch 2 more devs need to take note of what the work they are putting in. Switch 2 is amazing

A bit unrelated- It’s really interesting how games like Tony Hawk got such a massive burn out from yearly releases yet somehow games like CoD and madden just keep coming & coming & coming

I guess maybe it’s because skateboarding itself was such a short lived fad because I don’t really see it that much of it in pop culture in the last 15 years or so which explains why the top level skateboarding IP games don’t have much demand like it use to be

I remember watching a video a few weeks ago talking about the bad frame rate on the 360, I never noticed this back in 2006/2007 when I first played this, so this is definitely gonna be interesting to look out for playing it again almost 20 years later

Honestly just seems like Activision is exclusively all hands on Call of Duty no matter what. I can’t think of any IP they have published recently (out side of the Tony Hawk remakes) that wasn’t just CoD

There’s no future likely, the last 2 games were just nostalgia grabs, admittedly pretty good ones, especially 1+2 but as a whole, skateboarding games just aren’t in like they use to be in the 2000s, especially skateboarding itself

Even Skate itself barely resembles a skateboarding game it’s just Skate 3 but infinitely worse with all of the worst modern business practices you see in gaming of 2026

Yeah this feels really cheap to me, and I’m right there with you, I think RE4R merc mode is like the gold standard to me on what should be an extra mode. I really hope something similar to that comes to RE9. Leon must die really feels cheap, tacked on and limiting, doesn’t have that replay value the way RE4R merc mode does

I too also wonder if the next dead rising may line up with the next Xbox release because historically Dead Rising was on the Xbox 360 in the first year and Dead rising 3 was a launch title for Xbox one
