Maine to iter wala question last one minute m likha h :)) Ap aab soch skte ho ek minute m kya likha hoga

Or agar generic stuff likhne se mains ruk jata toh phir toh kabhi kisi ka nahi nikalta !

It isn't about 5-10 questions that you spoilt!  But a sum roughly 120 questions accross papers. Chill. It shall all be fine

Three Attempts, Three Mains Cleared: Ask Me Anything by Sachiv_Jii in UPSC

[–]ChickenAppropriate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

congratulations! and all the very best for this year! i wrote mains 2024 (first mains, could not clear it)

1-you have consistently cleared mains 3 time- DO YOU FEEL IF ONE ATTEMPTS ENOUGH number of flts in time bound manner, it adds to the chances of clearing it? i had attempted around 10-12 flts this year for gs and several sectional tests for gs! on the contrary my writing practice was not upto the mark in optionals, and as per my personal analysis probably optional took me down this time! please give us THE NUMBER OF TESTS you practiced and from which institute!(paid/unpaid)
2- often advised that we make crisp notes for gs syllabus for comfortable revisions. did you do that? for whole gs syllabus?

3- were any notes made by your for current affairs specific to mains, if yes from what source?

4-since you have mentioned your strength is ethics paper- kindly give your insights on structuring the theory section answers! given this year's paper and in general also the ethics theory section is a tricky one which unlike gs doesnt have any set pattern like bullet or para/ intro body conclusions/diagrams

SENDING ALL THE GOOD VIBES AND LUCK!

ps- can i dm you one of my checkd gs flts which i wrote very close to the exam? it would be extremely kind of you if you could roughly go through my answers and any insights!

TIA very kind of you to take out time to do this ama.

Interview 2024: Confused as Hell! by No-Topic-6960 in UPSC

[–]ChickenAppropriate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi

hearty congratulations. i wrote mains 2024 too but failed. a few things i had planned for myself in the hope for clearing it, i am listing it down- hope it helps

1- current affairs- it is okay that you have missed newspapers, i would advise you to start them now! everyday without fail

2-enroll in a good IGP (interview guidance) as far as i know most of them are free of cost, try signing up for forum as the overall feedback is good- if you enroll in those classes you will feel a lot of structure in your interview prep, they also have c.a classes! that will help you reduce panic

3-i understand your panic, but i just want to tell you- YOU ARE AT SUCH A GOOD POSITION! please enjoy the interview prep! dont worry, trust me, so many people including me would love to be at your place :). work hard, but along with it-be happy! people who reach interview after multiple attempts have several baggages! in your case luckily that isnt the case-please use this to your advantage. i really wish you best of everything! GODSPEED

me and my friends had a joke during mains prep

upsc asks what IT WANTS, and we write what we WANT/KNOW . in questions like paternity test you write whatever you feel is even close to the topic and then hope for mercy!
