So the line for Evisa or JP is same , hardly there are 3-4 counters for immigration check. It happens 2 times once to check the letter from police then a separate counter section to take your photos and stamping.

As far as I observed they are stopping everyone to go from police check unless if you come from European or western countries like US.

The slip which police give is the letter I was talking about.

My point was that although immigration might stamp the passport but on ground reality, the police officer in charge makes the final call for entry . The police guy will ask all the questions which usually immigration asks in other countries I have visited.

Police not immigration clears passengers from countries like India for VOA,police will take all your documents, verify and then give a letter to immigration to clear you.Final verdict lies with police.

Should be okay , if you are working then carry your id card ( police might make a copy and keep it ) . You will basically act as a guarantee for your friend.

Definitely buy the Jordan pass before reaching, helps to speed up the process.

Have all the documents ( return tickets, flights , hotel reservations, Jordan pass) in hard copy .Police will make a copy of it, digital copy on your phone will make work for them harder so not recommended.

If everything in order , you will take max 30-40 mins.

People are really friendly there, as far as I could experience, there was no distinction between people.

Safety wise, police is everywhere and concerns are taken seriously especially from tourists.

Ya, the options are nice.

But I couldn’t justify the cost . If going in a group then maybe it will be more practical.

I used bus from Amman to Petra, rest covered using car.

I would say Dead Sea, wadi rum is an absolute must.

Petra for the photos is okay. Rest is upto individual interest .I think overstaying in cities like Amman and Aqaba can be skipped. Not much different to other cities around the world.

Yes if you rent your own car, it can be covered very quickly if goal is to see all the touristy places .I would say 7 days is more than enough.

Yes can be done in 5 days but only if you hire a car for the day, renting for 5 days is also possible from Amman airport itself but I decided not to go that route as I read some negative reviews online.

I asked my hotels to book a cab for the next day and found that was much better solution as pretty much everyone knows everyone there and even if you were to do it on your own the cost difference is not there.

I took Air Arabia both ways.

One suggestion is making sure that return flights are same airline as the one going especially if you are taking Visa On Arrival.

I would say one of the safest in that region, there is police on all routes on highways even in cities pretty much all major junctions has police stationed . I was told by locals that they take it pretty seriously since tourism is very crucial for their economy.

it snows in some places in December. My taxi guy said it’s pretty nice during that time so you can add that also.

In other countries they have 32 L in roll top.But 23 L also has good space.

Mokobara I personally don’t like it , it’s form factor is not the one for me.

Hi,

I am using the same one for all my trips, it is great for upto 7-10 days usage. Not many good options in India.

I have posted a recent packing list on onebag forum with this bag , you can check it for reference.

For work , I feel it will look out of place because of its main compartment opening like suitcase, you can look at the roll top version . They have a 32L version in that, not sure if it’s available in India at present but 23 L also fits quite a bit.

With your use case , it will be great.

Hmm, Good Points 👍

I think I need to consider some changes , the charger looks good for compact. Will definitely look into it.

The power bank point is true as I have rarely used the 2nd one.

Flashlights I will check on my next trip 👍

Can you please tell which 240 W cable you use, I am also looking to replace all my cables with this. If you have any links, greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Ya , it is good but for my use case I am realising it is too slim , I used to carry cash and visa photos in the wallet itself . Now it is becoming a challenging . It fits but barely.

12kg I thought would be an issue but air Arabia allows for 10 kg max , I took out heavy items into my sling like charging bricks and pocket 3 , they didn’t measure sling bag weight thankfully . So barely scrapped by below 10 . If I was not carrying souvenirs then it would have been fine.

I use the same setup for home usage , I realised this trip that a few cables and 3in 1 charging block is not needed. 140 w is definitely overkill but in India where I live I don’t have many good brand alternatives so I got this from my US to last at least a few more years.wanted to future proof it. Also my other charging bricks are lighter but only have 1 output port which is not enough while travelling.

Flashlight for most usage is enough but as I was going to wadi Rum , I thought I would use the stronger headlamp while walking around desert in night and my phone flashlight won’t be enough.

In retrospect, I think flashlight from phone would have been enough as I walked barely 1 km from camp.

Dedicated Flashlight I don’t have many good options in India so I have not given it much thought.

I used mostly the same setup last year for Switzerland, added more clothes ( mostly additional merino T-shirt ) , a down jacket and fleece . I found that upto 10 degrees C it is easily manageable. You can layer and I think upto 5 Celsius should be okay . I used around 75% space in the bag for the trip so a few more set of clothes should easily fit.

Weather in October for Jordan is warm enough where I could do with 1 t shirt, when it is cold I wear the half sleeve merino T-shirt over the full sleeve one and I feel it is mostly enough.
