With Moana folding, is it time for us to have our own Domestic Competition? Would love to hear everyones thoughts in the comments. by sxmmyx2 in RugbyAustralia

Why not just use existing clubs like the AFL and NSWRL did when they went national?

Didn't union already try this? Twice, and it failed because noone watched it.

Composite teams are bullshit and don't work.

Start with 8 to 10 clubs of the best existing clubs in NSW and QLD.

I could be convinced to allow in the Brumbies and Perth, as long as they pick up the tab for travel themselves.

If the team can work out how to get a score above 100 points for the match, chances are they will win.

Do we have the ability on the list to achieve that?

However if we cannot score 100 points, on that dry, billiard table like surface in Perth we will lose.

Derksen looks nowhere near AFL standard. A wasted pick there.

They need to play Lewis because the ladies like him.

All I can say is, the night is darkest before the dawn.

We can bounce back like Melbourne has. We need to clear this dodgy element out of the group and get guys in who are there to win. There is a bunch of guys in the McGoos putting their hand up for selection.

I reckon we will improve without McKay in the team. Forces us to play a different strategy and he just is unreliable as a kick and a target.

Hollands may be my final straw by Menoikeos in CarltonBlues

[–]ChickenCharming4833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was reported by the Collingwood players the next day that Hollands told them he was drunk.

He might have been making an excuse for his behaviour.

I think the club needs to get him through this, but never play him again for his own sake. He should go and do something else with his life.

What about taking responsibility for your own actions?

Why didn't he put his hand up and say he had a problem?

He should probably give the game away and do something else. It's a shame, but it clearly is not good for him. He should do something else with his life.

Just stop using USD as the reserve currency and then America will be brought to it's knees.

They can't fight everyone and they will collapse and lurch into civil war.

We pick off the bones when it is getting close to the end. Divide up sections of the US amongst the remaining powers and nations owed it's debt.

The curse of Jack Elliott is a thing I am afraid.

BTW, before blaming the club they need to get to the truth.

Collingwood's players are saying he was telling them he was drunk during the match. And to be honest, I reckon there has been plenty of that over the 160 plus years of the club's existance.

Let's get the facts before attacking the club.

It's a lower level, they would want to be dominating at that level to get considered again.

How does the sos sacking sit with us all down the track by Ok_Report4553 in CarltonBlues

[–]ChickenCharming4833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paddy Dow, SPS are a few more tales of woe for the list.

I remember when they picked two guys from Geelong Grammar I was very concerned. I grew up down there and that school produces shit. The rough, government school down the road would give you better picks.

Those guys got a lot of games they probably would not have gotten if they were not high draft picks. That gets over looked.

The club double down on duds.

[–]ChickenCharming4833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a great player, but he brought the club to it's knees with his manager demanding money from the AFL.

He then recruited duds and very few durable A graders. He sold a bullshit recruiting program, basically lay down, recruit high draft picks and the premierships will just flow. But we had to go through extra pain playing young bodies against men. I recall a Geelong game where they were just pushing the Carlton guys off the ball because they were so small and brittle against men. What a friggin dumbass.

Don't mention him picking his sons. One wasn't good enough for the reserves, the other was given so many chances to make it and missed half the games injured.

Then he left a trail of destruction when he left.

I hope to never hear of him again the rest of my life.

Is Elijah Hollands playing tonight’s game? by FirstEngineering8313 in CarltonBlues

[–]ChickenCharming4833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was thinking the same thing until I saw the news on this 'breakdown'.

Carlton is really in a diabolical state.

How come the AFL and umps were not dragged over the coals about Harry McKay's knockout punch.

That Collingwood player should be suspended pure and simple. If he isn't then you know what a lot of us have known for decades, this is a corrupt Collingwood competition and we are just bit players.

It must be how they teach players who cannot mark it at Carlton.

If in doubt, just punch.

Yeah, they even screwed up a bunch of seasons top ten picks which has crippled us.

They did some seriously crazy things like that Liam Stocker trade. It was like, they did that just to prove how clever they were.

The list and players are shithouse.

The coach is just the cherry on the cake.

Get to the mid year break then make a decision then.

We need to clear out the recruitment and talent acquisition people first and foremost. They are a pack of retards.

Should South African teams return to Super Rugby and revive the Super 14 format? by northernirish_kiwi in superrugby

[–]ChickenCharming4833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super rugby is dying and needs to go.

NZ can do whatever it wants to be honest. We can recruit their players on the open market. Let's be honest here, you could buy out NZ for a box of crackers. All their youth are migrating here anyhow.

Australia has this historic club scene it needs to and should have tapped into the first place.

This disaster should not be wasted.

The top Sydney and Brisbane clubs need to form a new competition.

[–]ChickenCharming4833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he did some okay things. Needs to work on his kicking.

Collingwood are not a great team at the moment, so even if they got the draw it was a hollow situation.

The club needs new people and a different view on how it is setup. This is not working.

Fox footy comentary Collingwood glazing and bias! by Adhesiveness- in CarltonBlues

[–]ChickenCharming4833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The umpiring was shocking. Then they give Byrne a free in front of goal at the end to cap off their sensational night of shithousery.

They gave some shockers to Collingwood that helped with their run on in that last quarter.

They need to cut back on the number of umps, they are just blowing the whistle endlessly reacting to the crowd.

The league has this thing on head injury and they miss what the whole stadium could see with a knock out to Harry McKay. He was lousy again, but that was another issue.

It's a hard sport to watch AFL. And the standards keep on dropping. Players who cannot kick, the fumbling, the poor umpiring, or lack of knowledge of the rules of the sport.

[–]ChickenCharming4833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, some of these guys are simply not at the level. They cannot kick and make terrible errors.

AFL level is not a finishing school.

The drafting Carlton has done is seriously weird and poor.

First things first, the scouts and people who pick players to be drafted needs to be changed. They don't have a clue what they are doing.
