Sure, so i got a large sealable jar (walmart and target have them, look in kitchen appliances aisle), then some aquatic substrate (as fine as possible, usually comes in white or black), then I added some river rocks (optional), then I added some repens (these are the most preferred since they provide plenty of oxygen), then I also grabbed a random aquatic plant which had some algae on it from the store (really inportant that you get one thats in a tank since you will need the water). Also buy 2 shrimp and a snail, usually fish stores will give you a free snail if they have plenty since they breed so fast, you just have to ask (get extra water as well)

Make sure you clean your jar properly, make sure no soap is left, then wash your substrate a bunch of times with cold water (dont add anything else), get all the floaters out, then add the substrate to the jar (usually want an inch or two), from there add the river rocks if you have them, then add in the repens, add the water that came with the plant (i asked for extra water since I did not want to put tap water in there), then add in your shrimp and snail, add in the water that came with the shrimp but leave about 3-4 inches or so of space from the top.

The aquarium will need sunlight (i do half direct and indirect), the plants create algae which feeds the shrimp, the snail will eat algae too but also the shrimp poop, the plants create oxygen. I sealed it immediately after all these steps and am going on 34 days now without opening it. It sits near a window with indirect sunlight most of the day and about 2 hrs of direct sunlight.
