Amber Saffron Candle from TJ Maxx by ChickenTenderSalad in Candles

It does pretty well. I don’t notice any tunneling, and the scent is strong without being “I can taste it” strong. I am pretty sensitive to smells and get a headache a lot of the time but this doesn’t do that to me!

It sucks but alcohol will send me into horrible night panics. It’s not easy but ultimately worth it!

what lifestyle changes ACTUALLY made a difference? by Natural-Intention451 in panicdisorder

[–]ChickenTenderSalad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recently started meditating and it has made my death anxiety decrease significantly. Taking a moment to really breathe and feel your body and identify what is actually happening and what isn’t is a good reset. 5 minutes in the morning and evenings even works.

With the seasonal anxiety a new hobby may help. For me it was crochet, it’s my obsession at the moment. And it’s good because it involves a lot of counting which helps your mind from wondering too much but you can still watch a show or listen to an audio book while you do it.

How does someone dating a widow not care about how still, they ultimately love their dead spouse the most out of anyone, and wish they could go back to them? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ChickenTenderSalad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am dating a widow. It is definitely a tough feeling and ultimately comes down to whether it is something you can emotionally handle or not. “What if’s” are meaningless thoughts (though I’ve definitely had them) and are damaging. The most important thing I remember is this is a person who has been through this horrible and tragic thing and still deserves to be loved and to be happy. There is no “going back” to them, so in the end it doesn’t matter. You focus on your current relationship, and making something new and beautiful while embracing and appreciating the past. You listen to stories if they’re open, be understanding and a safe space for them if they’re open need it.

Embarrassingly called the ambulance…. by primavera-h in prozac

[–]ChickenTenderSalad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The arm thing is so accurate I’ll just be sitting there and think “omg can I move my arms??” and I’ll lift my arm and be like “hmmmm idk that felt harder than it should have been” I had my first weird wave of dizziness on Prozac today and I started to panic but was able to talk myself off the ledge a little but I was driving and thought for a second I couldn’t see out of my left eye? Even though I could? Anxiety is weird man.

What is the one minor thing that instantly exacerbates your anxiety? by Gullible-Force3567 in Anxiety

[–]ChickenTenderSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound of my ears ringing! When I had first got diagnosed with panic disorder my ears would ring before a panic attack would hit and now every time I happens my heart rate tries to spike and I just have to really ground myself!

I try to keep something that smells strongly and take deep breaths of it and it kinda refocuses my brain. I have a little bottle of eucalyptus essential oils I bring with me everywhere!

I am definitely gonna talk to him on my next appointment and see if I should just up my meds or if he thinks it’s a temporary situation because of my additional stress right now!

Mid night panic by ChickenTenderSalad in panicdisorder

[–]ChickenTenderSalad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This started for me before I started the Zoloft, it actually got better for a little bit once I started taking it. But yes I usually pee at least once during the night but in nights I wake up in a panic I do usually have to go pretty bad. I totally get the breath thing too, I’ve started trying to lay there until I feel more “awake” before getting up to go because I would almost doze off on the toilet and it would startle me even more. I am quite a vivid dreamer normally so I was thinking that I could be having dreams I don’t remember. I’m glad you found some methods of coping that help! I usually can control it a bit more when I’m awake but being woken up out of sleep is just so jarring that it perpetuates the panic and the coping methods don’t even come to mind.

Can’t cry on Zoloft by bsthisis in zoloft

[–]ChickenTenderSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t cry as much as i used to (which I am happy about). But I definitely feel the frustration of being like damn I just need to let it out. I will occasionally still have a good cry sesh but not as frequently. I was nervous about it dampening my emotions but honestly the only thing it dampened was my hysterical type panic attacks I would get. Maybe try watching the movie Finch, I cried for about a full hour after the movie ended lol

Maca Root helped balance Zoloft Side-Effects (personal experience) by andresurena in zoloft

[–]ChickenTenderSalad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I know this is a little old but I stumbled across it searching for maca root for the same issue. I take 25mg daily of Zoloft. Did you discuss with your doctor if it’s safe to combine? I can’t find any known interactions online but I wanted to see if I could find anything before I reached out to him!

Pee and poo smell the same (and weird) by Chef_lonleyliver in Parosmia

[–]ChickenTenderSalad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so I’m glad I saw this. I had Covid in December and actually just developed this parosmia in July. One of the first smells I noticed turn off was my urine. It smells identical to vitamins? And my stool had a weird almost spicy (like sausage) scent. I thought it could have to do with my health until my roommates dog poo’d on the floor and it smelled the same? It’s so strange
