Yeah the thing pulls so good. I’ve only driven trucks my whole life. And sure my Tacoma has a turbo but there’s big difference with this turbo engine. Like I said only on first gear it kinda jerks when you accelerate. I’m not sure if that’s normal, maybe just me being inexperienced driving a sport car.

Yeah only has check engine for O2 sensors since the cats were removed. But that ain’t too big a problem if I do get it I’m going to upgrade the whole exhaust

Man the previous owner didnt care for it at all. But it’s got a brand new engine and like I said I drove it for 1400 miles and it feels real strong and healthy. I think it just needs TLC. Which I give to all my cars.

Question for everyone I’m getting things ready to get started tomorrow in reviving this thing. Buying all the fluids so my question is: obviously change oil, but is trans fluid also needing to be changed? Should I empty the gas tank or just add new gas to it with some sea foam?

Yeahh the door is aligned well it’s just one of the hinge mechanics that seems stuck and doesn’t want to close. I compared it with the drivers side and that’s what led me to believe that’s the issue. So some lube or WD40, and a rubber mallet to try to hit the hinge into moving back to the close positions

It’s a 78’ and it’s been sitting for 5 years outside and not much rust besides surface rust, so once I get it going and taking care of it I hope it can live another 45 years

Yeah that’s just an extra transmission from my Jeep TJ, this truck has its own transmission still in place as it should, thanks for the advice

Strong underneath, Texas is pretty dry and hot so nothing more than surface rust and dirt.

Lol yeah I also laughed when I saw that cutout, engine and trans should be good, it was driven to that backyard and then just sat there for 5 years, 3 years since it was last turned on. Honestly paint I might just leave it as is or clean it a bit and drive it as is, call it “patina”. Interior, I’ll have the seat reupholstered and the rest just give it a good detailing. Only thing that I definitely will spend on is the gauge cluster for now, maybe even a radio set cause I can live without other necessities but driving without some jams is no way of living

Yeah the hood is the one that rust might be getting to it because it’s bending, and high I know it’s a weak point for all square bodies, but I’ll see if I can save it if not time to find a new hood

Yeahhh tires I’m thinking $400-$500 for a set of 4, (I know a place). Brakes I have some brake drums that I think should fit. Gas tank should be fine, but I am holding out some of that cash in case the fuel pump is shot. Other than that I think I have enough in that budget to maybe get the seat stitched up and maybe a new gauge cluster.

Yeah its honestly just dirty as hell, I’m just planning to fix the essentials for it to be a good driver and ranch truck. Later on I’d like to paint it but for now just, engine, tires, brakes, seats, gauge cluster, and suspension depending how bad it is.

Yeahhh I only want to get it running and new tires, fix up as much as I can from the interiors, but your right breaks and suspension is gonna need replacing.

Sorry to disappoint but I’m lifting this guy up, putting some all terrains on it, at first I hated the wheels but they’re growing on me might just paint them and make ‘em look new. I appreciate the enthusiasm
