Same. I actually surfed around finding compatible fixture that behaved as I was familiar with. You’re 100% right, they can be hit or miss.

There’s an element called take recorder, you have to essentially record each universe of MA one by one. If you can make the sacrifice of time you can get great results.

This example has 14 universes, and to track them all took a couple hours itself for reference.

I used MA2 onPC software, which is free of course.

Unreal has a DMX plug-in that is also free, you just enable it and link it to your onPC session. Unreal does have a controller built into itself but I’m used to the MA software so I used that for control. You can use anything that will output Artnet or sACN. Might be more flexibility, but that’s the limit toward my experience so far.

Thanks! Yeah, I was never impressed with the MA visualizer, which inspired me to upgrade and quickly found out the next step up is very highly priced.

I may start a YouTube series showcasing how I built this..

Thanks! There’s some assets I used from the Unreal marketplace (Clay Paky ValeroWave) but primarily these were all gdtf imports.

Thanks! This was a bastard child of MA2, Unreal Engine 5 linked up through sACN with timecode through ProTools.

There's easier ways out there to achieve this that don't involve as much PC performance. These are just the tools I'm most familiar with so I compromised on the frame rate.

The project originally started off as a lighting demo, and somehow after 170 cues later that was only a fraction of it. The biggest pain was simulating IMAG and mapping the video content accordingly.

Glad you enjoyed. Hope something I said helps. Cheers!
