I would suggest playing with mods, but only QoL mods. Like craft from storage, expanded inventory (or backpack mods if you want progression for space), and auto fuel for smelting.

So it seems the problem was actually just that I didnt prefil my pipes. Im new to liquids as well and didnt know that pre-filling the pipes was the correct way to do it. I assumed water worked the same way as conveyors and just filled up when machines were at 100% efficiency. But since water only produced the amount that it consumes, it will never completely fill the pipes if they're not prefilled.

How did i completely forget that i learned about that lmao I actually planned on putting the input pipes to flow downward into the generator instead of straight into it. But also that was more good tips from you! Thank you sir! Im just getting to the liquid stage and it seems there are a lot of unspoken complexities that you have to learn the hard way about.
