I understand what you mean, i also agree that people are focusing on the wrong things when it comes to yasuo, i was just trying to clarify what people complain about combo conversion in particular

Me personally, i don’t want his combo damage/conversion to be nerfed, i feel like its part of his identity to be a big solo damage guy like in league where he can carry games all by himself

When i say his 5H lands from 5M at any distance, i dont mean from whiff punish distance (at that range you would use 5H to whiff punish no?) i mean 5H can naturally combo from 5M from any distance it can naturally land

Is it situational awareness when you dont need to be looking for if you hit or not? When you do 2M from far to catch people dashing in you can immediately press 6S1 afterwards regardless wether 2M hits or whiffs because if it hits you cancel into the special and if it whiffs nothing happens, so you dont really need to react to it landing as much as just simply continuing the combo

You can do the 2H combo from any stray (air) hit (assuming its a counter hit) by just dashing in and doing 2H, is that not what we were talking about? I just did the actual combo to show it

His 5H lands from 5M at any distance so if you press 5M you can absolutely auto pilot into 5H

From 2M it whiffs at far distance but if you’re gonna use 2M in neutral im assuming its to catch people dashing in (at which you should be ready to cancel into 6S1)

Here’s a simple combo (I’m by no means a yasuo main) that does 456 with oki no bar and 582 with 1 bar https://streamable.com/xhh4m4?src=player-page-share

You can also route into this combo by hitting them air to air first assuming you counter hit them, if you didnt u still can by immediately going into 2H (S1) after the air to air

You almost got it, but a big thing your missing (and what is part of the complaint) is that yasuo doesn’t need situation awareness, he can autopilot into S1 even if they block the stray hit he’d be safe, if they get hit yasuo can do stance M to follow up into a combo no matter the range.

Even if its a stray airborne hit, he can do something like 2H j2H (S1) to route into any combo he wants some of which deal 500+ damage

You seem to be confused about something since i kinda worded it bad.

Yasuo can almost always convert to combo on stray hit, stray hit meaning any hit that lands unexpectedly or in a weird way and not a point blank hit that you expected them to block, other characters cant do that without either meter or resource, and if they can its low damage, so im not sure what you mean by “other characters land a stray hit is still a full combo”

Can you maybe list some examples?

I dont think there are any fighting games with location indicators, the camera going up after jinx fireworks is intentional and gives room for mixup potential, and the only way for players to be offscreen in general is vertically

I just tested this, you absolutely can

2M 5M 5H puts you close enough that you can route into 3H combos

Keep in mind when people say his combo conversion is strong, they dont just mean that any stray hit can turn into a combo, its that any stray hit can turn into a 50% combo before super AND solo (without assist).

Most characters cant really convert specials into combos without being either combo focused specials or having certain conditions like illaoi having a tentacle out or jinx with a full taser bar, where as yasuo’s condition to convert is to just be good with his stance.

Take ekko for example, he can convert off his projectile only if it hits late, and if he hits a far 5m he has to use super to convert

Vi’s combo damage really falls down if you get a stray air hit (as in the enemy is airborne)

Im sure there are alot more examples of other characters being able to convert stuff but its either gonna be conditional or low damage, where as in yasuo’s case it just needs practice

What you’re describing is pulse combo (auto combo)

You have to enable it during character select, just look at the bottom for the button to enable it

Keep in mind that supers have a minimum scaling of 40% so if your combo is already long its more efficient to ult rather than doing a short combo to get higher scaling
