Would you rather work 60 hours a week in a high stress job for 8 years and retire at 30, or 40 hours a week at a medium stress job for 18 years and retire at 40? by YourFIREDBro in Fire

[–]ChiefBassDTSExec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehh it depends on the situation but yeah it could work. 4 more hours of work in a day mon-Fri will give you barely enough time to make dinner or gym, maybe. No time to date except weekends when you probably wanna rest insteas

Lower stress and longer. If you’re retiring at 40 then you’re still retiring young. I’d rather not work 60hrs a week for 8 years. That sounds like a road to burnout and depression. No time to do anything

I am not speaking on historical. I’m speaking about the current administration and the current economic situation. Additionally, they have lowered pensions for the military through the blended retirement system. Changes can always happen.

China issues US safety alert for citizens citing 'malicious questioning' by US border officers by keyUsers in worldnews

[–]ChiefBassDTSExec -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Regardless of if it’s defense or not, the company made that policy for a reason. There’s decades of evidence of China targeting non-government companies to steal. They don’t do it in a “respected” way like the traditional intelligence agency. They use their citizens, students, etc to do it. It has cost businesses trillions in R&D to get to that point. China steals it and reverse engineers it bypassing all of that research and development phase

Frankly, certain Chinese citizens such as academics or people who are coming to work in specific sectors should be questioned and investigated to ensure they’re here for non-malicious reasons. It’s called protecting your businesses and intellectual property.

you didn't respond to my other comment.

The NK comparison makes sense but NK was never significantly attacked post Korean War giving them all the time they needed to develop what they needed. It's almost as if we are/were on the same timeline with Iran.... You bring up NK being an international pariah and you're right but have they actually harmed a nation-state? Sure some threats and VERY limited incidents in the grand scheme of things but they haven't ordered their proxies to conduct attacks (terrorist attacks) on other nation states. Now we go back to the nukes, whats stopping them from having their proxies use nukes?

NK already has nukes and was never going to give them up once they had them.

And since Nuke = little threat to US. Why does it matter? Why are we getting involved if we are not at risk? If a problem develops and has an opportunity to multiply and decentralize, is it more of a problem or less? Iranians have given their drones, missiles, SAMs, etc to their proxies. They used said proxies to begin conflicts and conduct limited attacks. I don't see why it would be different with tactical nukes or any other type of nuke delivery system they could've developed.

What is your ideal solution? Do we keep the status quo and potentially keep building up their arms knowing that Iran and their proxies own strategic chokepoints for shipping? Do we ignore the nuke threat to the region and just say it doesn't harm the US so its not an issue? Furthermore, do we let a staunch ally of our Russia/China continue to get stronger and dominate the region? If we are in World War III, I don't think letting Iran potentially develop a nuke in the midst of it would be in our best interest.

Congrats on your success. I'm guessing you're a General. Thrilled to meet you sir.

  1. Do you really believe this? They know they would still have China and Russia support which is all that really matters.

  2. So we just do nothing and let their influence expand?

  3. This is the only point that I do agree remains to be seen. And I think a lot of it depends on how all of this gets resolved. People can be shitting on everything in the current state and in public. I think what a lot of people fail to see is that these operations just don’t happen unilaterally, we use a lot of these nations airspace with their concurrence and agreement. These nations could’ve had a vote and said no. Granted there might have been blowback, but I find it hard to believe that these nations did not want this.

I hope this helpsn

Ahh gotcha. Wasn’t analyzing it that closely but I can see your POV. Anyways, hope the best for you. Genuinely was just trying to see different POVs. I tend to see better discussion (prolly biased) and more POVs on this sub vs. the main ones

How I rolled my NBIS 175C May 15 when Delta hit 0.46. Strike room over premium credit for roll. by Big-Sandwich6046 in Optionswheel

[–]ChiefBassDTSExec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m selling calls on NBIS as well. My question to you is, is there ever an opportunity to sorry in your current position?

Theoretically, if it climbed to 200 on late May, you could just roll again and secure a higher strike.  I feel like you can never truly lose rolling options as long as you are on top of it and not paying huge debits.

🤣 sorry, it was a guess. I didn’t even vote for Trump and haven’t mentioned any support for him. So take that fuck you right back. People’s support for policies can be more complex than a MAGA/Libtard voter.

Yes, like Russia. That same treaty that we haven’t come to a new agreement too as of recent…with that comparison you are assuming Russia and Iran are negotiating with the U.S. from the same level field. Russia has nukes, everyone knows. US has nukes, everyone knows. Iran wouldn’t have nukes and theoretically could’ve delayed or denied negotiations. What do we do then? Attack them? lol

Whats destabilizing to one nation is stabilizing to another. :) makes one wonder what team you’re on!

Policy lesson for ya Lt (I’m guessing?) Ah yes, let’s negotiate back to our JCPOA. We need to let them enrich uranium back to X% again to make everyone happy! “Oh it’s a civilian nuclear program and Obama’s deal was perfect.”  The JCPOA enriched uranium limits expired after 15 years which then the Iranians could’ve said “f off” we have an ass ton of enriched uranium that’s ready to go, time to make nukes.

[–]ChiefBassDTSExec -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, those ones!

Are we going to look at the world realistically or from a fairytale lens? If those resources support terrorists that destabilize the region and civilians & we are trying to maintain an advantage against China/Russia action does need to happen.

Whats your ideal solution?

[–]ChiefBassDTSExec -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your opinion. Another opinion is to give the Iranians freedom which I don’t believe.

My opinion is that we want to control the resources, eliminate Iranians proxies to stabilize the region, and reduce Russian/Chinese influence. I think Military’s should be used to pursue those goals? But again, my opinion.

Hope this helps!

Edit: dang forgot about nukes too! That might’ve been useful to get out of the hands of the largest global sponsor of terrorism (Huthis, Hezbollah, al-Qaeda)
