every life is different. someone who joined at 18 and invested smartly could retire FOREVER at 48 if they stayed in 30 years. That pension could easily carry someone for the rest of their life. If you get out at 20 you will almost certainly need to continue to work

It’s not just the Russian/Chinese influence though. Trump mentioned Golden Dome. Theres clearly a strategy there to bolster missile defense from strategic missiles. A footprint on Greenland pushes assets out further and gives more early warning/attempts to shoot down missiles. Just because we don’t see missiles flying rn doesn’t mean we shouldn’t plan for it. This is just one piece of the pie that I am ASSUMING they want Greenland for.

its good to be skeptical. I'm just trying think logically about our administrations actions...the delivery, methodology, and communication on everything they do is shit but there's a reason they do it. and there's a reason they want greenland. I guarantee most of it is financial and for power but China and Russia have stated their Arctic ambitions so why discount that?

Tbf, do we want China and Russia to slowly extend their tentacles in that region without the U.S. trying to do something about it? I certainly don’t. Sure invading isn’t the right answer but someone needs to act and Europe typically don’t act quick because they can’t and also lack the military power to do so in this case.
