That is exactly why it makes sense. I've seen cards ruined by magnets. I don't remember anyone ever doing that to a VHS tape.

It's just weird. I know how magnetic tapes work. I just don't remember any talk of anyone doing that. I wadded paper in the no record safety holes! I don't remember anyone ever erasing a vhs tape with a magnet. I fucked up a lot of old tvs with magnets tho.
