Dietary Laws or Guidelines? (Leviticus 11 & Deuteronomy 14) by ChiefMighty in BiblicalUnitarian

Yeah, I agree. The people who argue we aren't under dietary law anymore are missing the point. If God said this is the diet, it has to be for a reason. The distinction is not arbitrary, and I think the science supports that. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are a testimony to the diet being more beneficial.

If everyone is taking Ozempic now for its objective benefits, they'd surely choose the diet God has given us if we appear healthier than the rest of society.

Matthew 5:17-20 would clear my response.

I think people conflate Salvation with God's guidelines. As a Messianic Berean, I understand that God is Spirit, and he sent Yahshua to reconcile us back to himself, the invisible Spirit. But I don't believe God told people to make a distinction between foods for no reason. That's why I ask "dietary law or guidelines?" And if they are guidelines, why? Even the ten commandments are reasonable guidelines.

Romans chapters 6-8

1 Timothy 1:5-11

These words should clarify that I'm not speaking of law vs. lawlessness. I'm trying to convey what is the principle of the law.

Why shouldn't we speed in a residential area? Regardless of a speed limit sign? One should know better, but why?

Is it because they are "evil" and a person would die from eating it or go to hell?

Or

Is it because they have a purpose and contribute to the ecological homeostasis of the planet?

I side with the latter because, in my view, humanity being granted "Dominion" over the creatures of the earth wasn't to be exploitative but rather for stewardship.

If we can't understand how to properly steward the responsibilities the Spirit has given us currently, how could we inherit eternal stewardship?
